How to Apply: Semester Accommodation

FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE NON-GRADUATING EXCHANGE (NGE) STUDENTS
 
NUS is currently facing an acute housing shortage. Over the years, the number of international exchange students coming to NUS, has increased hence it is a challenge to accommodate all exchange students from our partner universities.

NUS believe that accommodation plays a big part in the overall exchange experience and wants to provide incoming exchange students with a wonderful learning and living environment.

NUS will try to accommodate the exchange students either in University owned or leased housing.


TERMS & CONDITIONS

1.
Students must read and understand the Accommodation Policy before submitting an application.
 
2.
Students who are no longer full-time status (e.g. on Leave of Absence, withdrew and graduated) are not eligible to stay in NUS student accommodation and will be given 7 days notice to vacate their rooms.
 
3. NGE students must hold a valid student pass to be eligible to stay in NUS accommodation. Please note that you are required by Singapore Immigration to surrender your student pass within 7 days from your course end date.
 
4.
There will be a non-refundable application fee of S$15.00 (subject to prevailing GST) per application submitted.
 
5.
Students with outstanding application fee/ hostel fees may not be allocated accommodation.


HOW TO APPLY

For Special Term AY2009/2010, arriving International NGE students may email their request for housing at sephousingenquiry@nus.edu.sg.

For Semester stay, arriving International NGE students can indicate their request for housing in their NUS Exchange application. For details and to apply please click here.

RESULTS NOTIFICATION

For Semester stay, accommodation results will be released together with the NUS Exchange application outcome. For details, please click here.

For students who have been offered Semester 1 AY 2009/2010 accommodation, please click here to accept or reject the offer by 16 July 2009.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS

You may check-in to your allocated hall/residence during office hours from Monday, 3 August 2009. If you wish to check-in before the stipulated date or after office hours please inform the respective hall or residence Management Office at least 1 week in advance (prior to check-in) to check availability.

PAYMENT

1.
For NUS owned accommodation, students will be invoiced upon check-in. Hostel fee must be settled within the date stipulated in the Hostel invoice.
2.
For yoHA@Commonwealth, hostel fee must be settled prior to check-in. Please click here for details.

UNSUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
