Student Achievement Awards (SAA)

This annual ceremony recognises exceptional individual students or student organisations for their noteworthy contributions to the University in areas outside the academic curriculum.

Nominations are invited and judged against category-specific criteria. These categories are Leadership, Competitions, Arts & Culture (Project), Community Service (Projects) and New Initiatives (Projects).

Nomination Criteria

Category Description
Leadership (individual)

  • This is a category for individuals. Student must have held position of a Project Director, Vice Project Director, President or Vice President of a student organisation.
  • Student’s leadership abilities will be assessed through a questionnaire and submission of supporting documents.
  • Projects
    *Arts & Culture
    *Community Service
    *New Initiatives (Group)
  • Students will need to select their best project and submit as a project under each project category. Projects will be assessed through a questionnaire and submission of supporting documents.
  • Multiple submissions of a single project across project categories are not allowed.
  • The projects should not be part of an academic project or module requirement.
  • Competitions
    (Individual/Group)
  • This is applicable to non-sport competitions. Individual student or groups may select their best competition and submit for this category. Nominees must have represented the University in the stated competition. The competitions will be assessed through a questionnaire and submission of supporting documents.
  • The competitions should not be part of an academic project or module requirement.

    NUS Sports Awards

    An annual ceremony that celebrates the virtues and values like sportsmanship, integrity, perseverance and respect, the NUS Sports Awards honours student athletes and NUS Varsity Sports Teams in tertiary sports and competitions, including national-level ones.
