A/P Ng joined National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Office of Students Affairs (OSA) in April 2017 as Vice Dean of Students. Prior to joining OSA, she was already an active contributor to student life on campus and took a keen interest in supporting students with their academic and non-academic challenges. She served as a Resident Advisor from 1999 - 2000 at the now-defunct Gillman Heights postgraduate students’ hostel and subsequently 2000-2003 at Prince George’s Park Residences.
In 2012, A/P Ng set up the Student Life Office in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). As the Associate Head of Student Life of ECE, she formed the Undergraduate Student Council and worked closely with students to promote a more experiential campus life. A/P Ng’s responsibilities expanded in 2014 when she took up the role of the Deputy Head (Undergraduate Programmes & Student Life) at ECE. She led a comprehensive review and successfully launched the undergraduate EE programme for 2017.
At OSA, A/P Ng continues to devote time to her passion in students’ well-being. She is instrumental in setting up the newly minted Student Support Service (S3) – a unit within OSA that works in close collaboration with other university units to strengthen mental health services in a safe and inclusive space.
When she’s not at work, the mother of three enjoys music and being close to nature.
