Associate Professor Peter Pang
Dean of Students
As Dean of Students, A/P Peter Pang contributes to fostering the holistic development of students as global citizens and leaders of change. He is chiefly responsible for student community engagement, on-campus hostel admission and residential life, sports, student services, student wellbeing and disability support, student organisations, and outside-the-classroom learning for the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Prior to helming the Office of Student Affairs, A/P Pang held various significant positions of administrative leadership at NUS, including as Associate Provost (Student Life) from 2014 to 2016, Assistant Vice-President (University and Global Relations) from 2010 to 2014, and Director of the University Scholars Programme from 2003 to 2009. He is also an associate professor at NUS Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science.
A graduate from the University of Toronto and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he also served as President of the Singapore Mathematical Society from 2006 to 2009. In 2006, he received the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) from the President of the Republic of Singapore. Prioritising students has always been the root of his dedication and passion. He continues this commitment and advocacy to better enrich student life in NUS.
Outside of NUS, A/P Pang is actively involved as a member of the Board of Governors of the Singapore International Foundation. He hopes to create a better world – one that is peaceful, inclusive and offers opportunities for all – bringing Singaporeans and world communities together to do good. He also sits on the Advisory Committee of Youth Corps Singapore.
He spends his leisure time being a classical music and Chinese tea aficionado.
