As Assistant Dean of Students at NUS Office of Student Affairs, Dr. Chen Zhi Xiong is involved in nurturing the community sports scene in NUS through road shows and pop-ups to re-imagine academic space, culminating in today’s community sports carnival. He is also involved in overseeing Freshman Orientation, and reviewing the training and development of student leaders. Zhi Xiong is also the Deputy Education Director at the Department of Physiology, Integration Lead Educator at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Biomedical Science Educators Association (APBSEA).
Trained as a paediatric cancer scientist, he is Principal Investigator of the Neurodevelopment and Cancer Laboratory and Joint Scientist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Zhi Xiong has studied and worked in NUS for 17 years. Bleeding orange and blue, Zhi Xiong is committed to serve his purpose in transforming and impacting students’ lives, so much so that he has decided to raise his two kids on campus by serving as Resident Fellow of King Edward VII Hall.
