Advisory

1.

NUS recognises the environmental and economic impacts of the consumption of bottled water. Therefore, we strongly encourage NUS community not to use bottled water.

2.

However, the University recognizes the need for bottled water under special circumstances such as catering to foreign visitors and at events where potable water is not easily accessible.

3.

The University would also like to encourage responsible action and recommend staff to acquire the habit of bringing re-usable bottles or mugs to meals and meetings. More water coolers will also be installed across the campus at strategic locations to facilitate easy access to potable water.

4.

Offices that would like to install water coolers on their premises to discourage the use of bottled water are advised to procure those that come equipped with three (3) dispensing taps (one for cold water, one for hot water and one for room temperature). You may like to access www.nus.edu.sg/oes/resources/greencontacts.html for the list of suppliers.

5.

Thank you.

Deputy President (Administration)
