Office of Environmental Sustainability

Having a headache wondering how to dispose your spoilt handphones?

Here’s your chance to get rid of them while doing your part for the environment.

For every unwanted handphone of any brand, with or without battery that you recycle into the NOKIA Recycling Booth (located inside Central Library Perk Point):

Nokia will sponsor planting a tree in your name at Sebangau National Park, Indonesia. Nokia will send a confirmation email with the precise latitude and longitude coordinates of your tree’s location to you so that you can monitor the growth of your tree via the link provided in the Nokia email. Nokia and TES-AMM will also donate US$1 to support NUS environmental projects. Nokia will recycle the various parts of the handphone appropriately. (For more information visit: http://www.nokia.com/global/about-nokia/people-and-planet/sustainable-devices/recycling/recycling/)

The phone collection from TES-AMM will take place every few months. Please be patient for your tree to be planted.
