Office of Environmental Sustainability

Environmental Education

Environmental Education is one of the key strategic thrusts of OES. While OES is committed to pursue improvements in the sustainability of our operations, planning and construction in the university, education, research and instruction are vital to realizing exponential environmental benefits that our investments in our institutional operations alone cannot hope to achieve.

Roles in Environmental Education

Support, facilitate and develop connections between faculties, graduate and undergraduate research related to sustainability.

Broaden interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary participation among faculties, students in environmental, social and economic research, problem solving, artistic expression and communications relating to sustainability.

Strategies

Support projects, papers, independent study and theses that enhance undergraduate/graduate education and research in sustainability.
Support independent graduate and undergraduate student research relating to campus-based sustainability projects.
Increase environmental awareness through programs and outreach.

Provide internship opportunities for undergraduates for campus-based sustainability projects. Read more on IARU Student Sustainability Fellowship and Internships@OES.
