Office of Environmental Sustainability

NEWater Visitor Centre

As part of our resource conservation awareness, the NUS Campus Sustainability Committee have been organising visits to the NEWater Visitor Centre.

For those who missed out on previous visits, we will be organising another trip during this vacation break. You are cordially invited to participate in the coming 19 June 2004 visit. Please register for the visit by providing your
name, staff/student number, IC/Passport number, faculty/department, email address
to: http://sunsite.nus.edu.sg/oqm/main/oqmsolutions/client/csc/index.php

The PUB has informed us that because of the high profile nature of the water processing plant - all visitors (including the bus drivers) to the NEWater Visitor Centre will have to be "pre-vetted" by the police and as such CSC have to submit participants' names and Identity Card (IC) or passport number to them as a security check. Please ensure that your names/IC/passport numbers are correct. Only those names in this list that we sent to the PUB will be allowed into the NEWater Visitor Centre. Because of this - the closing date is: 15 June 2004 and no last minute participants will be entertained.

Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis (maximum of 120 participants). Only successful applications will be noticed by 16 June 2004.

Participants are requested to

1.

Meet at the ground floor of former Administrative Building (next to the Central Library). The buses will leave at 9.30 am sharp and return to the same place (by 1 pm) after the visit.

2.

  Note the following

The visit is confined to NUS Staff and Students only. Participants are to bring their IC or Passport in case of spot check by the security personnel at the NEWater Visitor Centre.

Subject to approval from their supervisor/head, staff members need not take leave to participate in the visit (if he/she is working on19 June 2004).

No time-off will be accredited to staff members who are on alternate Saturday off but participate in the above visit.
