Following a detection of water leakage at Kent Ridge Hall in Nov 09, a thorough comparison of the water usage has been carried out to investigate the beginning of the leakage. It has been found that the water leakage has been ongoing for a long time, and hence incorporation of the water consumption of Kent Ridge Hall into the InterHall Environmental Awards competition will prove to be meaningless.

In order to ensure that Kent Ridge’s participation in the InterHall Environmental Awards Competition, the 20% of the total score contributed by water consumption will be ignored and the 80% of total score attributed by electricity bills and eco projects will be converted to 100% of the total score.

As the InterHall Environmental Awards compares each hall’s current utilities consumption with its previous consumption, Kent Ridge water consumption will also be excluded from the AY 2010/2011 InterHall Environmental Awards competition since the Kent Ridge 2009 water consumption cannot be included for competition purposes.
