Earth's Scarcity of Metals Revealed

James Cook University Australia, Singapore Campus
Presents: Public Lecture Series 2009
The world is using up minerals and metals at an alarming rate. Some of the traditional sources of metals could be exhausted in less than two decades. Urgent action is required to get precise estimates of global mineral reserves and accurate figures for their consumption. In addition, non-traditional sources of metals need to be explored. Without recycling, reuse and the extraction of metals from novel, non-traditional sources, the outlook for humanity with respect to achieving more equitable and sustainable societies looks bleak.

If you wish to learn more from Professor Bernd Lottermoser, come join us to his Public Lecture on the 30th of September 2009. Please see attached invitation for more details.
