The National Environment Agency will be holding the first national song-writing competition for the environment titled “ Eco Music Challenge 2010”. We would like to invite your school / organisation to show your support for the environment and participate in this inaugural event.
The Eco Music Challenge 2010 is a unique platform for music talents in Singapore to express their appreciation for our beautiful environment through songwriting. These music compositions will also serve to encourage everyone to play a part in protecting our environment so that we can continue to enjoy good quality of life.
Details of the competition:
Title: Eco Music Challenge: NEA Song Writing Competition 2010
Entries for the competition must be submitted before 29 August 2010.
1st Prize: S$5,000
2nd Prize: S$3,000
3rd Prize: S$2,000
There will also be 7 consolation prizes of $300 each to be given away

This competition will give good publicity and exposure to both your teachers and students |

A good opportunity for them to exercise and showcase their music / songwriting talent as well as support for the environment |

Finalists will perform at the Eco Music Festival 2010 Concert, held in end October 2010 |

Mentorship for the finalists will be provided by Mr Clement Chow, a renowned Singapore song writer and performer, who has composed national classics like “Count on Me Singapore” and the first national Clean and Green Singapore song, “Let’s Make Our World The Most Beautiful Home” |
We would also like to seek your support for NEA to promote the competition via your school’s events, workshops or any appropriate programmes.
To this end, Mr Clement Chow and Ms Tay Kewei (a budding song writer) will join NEA in visiting your school and perform live and encourage the teaching staffs and students to take part in the Eco Music Challenge 2010, as well as spread the environment messages.
We hope you can let us know if we are able to visit your school and explore with you and / or your teacher-in-charge to jointly publicise this competition to your students, including the display of our promotional collateral within your school.
