Youth Environment Envoy (YEE) Workshops

The National Environment Agency (NEA) will like to invite you to nominate your students and staff to sign up for the Youth Environment Envoy (YEE) Workshop Run 14 & Run 15, conducted by a professional regional consultant with vast experience in the area of environment education and training.

Run 15 19 to 21 March 2010 (3 days) 8.30 am to 6pm TBC

The YEE programme seeks to develop a core group of YEEs between the ages of 17 and 35 years to lead, promote and encourage their peers to take ownership of their environment and lead more environmentally-sustainable lifestyles. The programme complements the existing, and through the workshops, YEEs will gain deeper insights into environmental issues, and improve their communication and project management skills to take on proactive leadership roles for the environment.

Objectives of YEE Workshop
To provide conceptual and practical information and training on sustainable development process, with emphasis placed on cooperative teamwork, communication, networking and systems thinking.
To provide a framework and launching point for the YEEs to develop and implement environmental sustainability projects with their respective organisations and communities in the future.
To provide professional and personal development by way of increased understanding, tools and skills of the YEE network and to encourage collaborative efforts with regards to environmental sustainability projects and actions.

Pre-Workshop Requirements
Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
Aged 17 - 35;
Committed, motivated and passionate about the environment;
Active in community / school-based environmental projects / studies or activities;
Possess good oral and written English skills.

NEA would like to highlight that nomination does not automatically qualify the applicant for a place in the YEE workshop. NEA may follow up directly with the nominee to conduct some additional enquiries for short listing purposes. Successful applicants will be required to place a SGD $50 deposit for confirmation purposes. The deposit is fully refundable after successful completion of the YEE workshop. Only 30 places available.
