In all NUS canteens and the Co-op bookstores, plastic bags are taxed at 10cents per piece to offset the pollutive capacity of plastics. So bring your own bag or simply refuse one to help our environment. (All the money collected goes to NUS Sustainability Fund)
Also make is a habit to bring your own container for takeaways in canteens – and get $2 off your meal for every 10th time you do so!
Printers in the Central Library, CBLC and all major computer clusters in NUS are set to print double-sided by default to save paper so remember to change the settings if you DO need to print something single-side!
But then again, why choose single-side? All assignments in NUS can be submitted on double-sided print unless otherwise stated.
*Both initiatives are implemented after a petition supported by more than 7000 NUS students in 2009.
Don't be left out, find out more about what we do here!
