Faculty Of Dentistry Building

Faculty of Dentistry (FOD) was previously operating from the NUH Main building up to December 2009. Due to the limited space available in NUH, it stifled the faculty’s growth potential.
In Oct 2008, the FOD building was conceived with plans to provide them the avenue for expansion (especially in Postgraduate Education and Training) and at the same time upgrade their teaching facilities. The relocation of (FOD) to this new facility (at the previous Car Park 9 land parcel in NUS) will also provide some space relief to NUH and allow the hospital to expand their Clinical Research Programmes.
The new (FOD) building comes with a Gross Floor Area of 6,195sqm. The building was designed to accommodate all Faculty and Administrative Staff, Undergraduate and Graduate learning facilities such as Dental Clinics & Laboratories, X-ray Facility, Seminar and Tutorial Rooms.
The building was designed
with an open central courtyard at ground
floor level (to facilitate Staff & Students
interaction) and a drop-off porch.
The front facing façades along the
main roads are cladded with glass and
aluminium composite panels. An open
air roof terrace (with trellises to
provide some shade) is provided for
at Level 4 alongside with two Student
Discussion/Seminar Rooms.
