wish you a Happy New Year!!
In this issue, we will be sharing with you our visit to
Econs Nursing Home and an exclusive interview with Mr P
Rachandran.
Last December, a team of OED volunteers, together with NUS
community service club celebrated Christmas with the elders
at Econs Nursing Home. It was an enriching experience. Most
of the staff wanted more of such similar activities. Read

experience.
Recently, we are delighted that our Security Fire Officer,
Mr P Rachandran received the Star Award from the EXSA competition.
It is one of the prestigious awards given by SPRING. Rachandran
accept our exclusive email interview on his latest win.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
AT ECON NURSING HOME ON 23 DEC 2006

From your perspective, what were the reasons
behind your win?
My supervisor had placed trust and empowered me to
carry out my work. This sense of empowerment and trust has
motivated me to do my job to the best of my ability. Besides,
to excel, one must have the passion. In the security industry,
the job can be repetitive and monotonous and sometimes we
face a lot of difficulties...
