ED'S
NOTE |
| |
|
|
 |
|
OED has braved numerous crises
over the years and each crisis made us stronger. OED emerged
from the landslide incident at School of Business BIZ 2
Building in Jan 06 stronger. We have forged stronger bonds,
and learnt valuable lessons while dealing with difficult
situations. Our Crisis Emergency Management (CEM) team,
which comprises of staff with various technical expertise,
came together to ensure that NUS continued to be a safe
place for study, research and work.
OED has always been a strong advocate of construction safety
in the campus. We were awarded the ASHPA (Annual Safety
& Health Performance Award) Merit Award (with commendation)
by the Office of Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE).
Our recent email interview with OED's
Safety Committee Chairman, Dr Chong Min Keong, will give
you an insight to OED’s safety initiatives.
The completion of the NUS High School and the Student Service
Centre located at the Yusof Ishak House (YIH) gave us even
more reason to celebrate. We took pride in hosting the hand
over ceremony of NUS High School, which was held late last
month. It also gave us great satisfaction to have played
a part in providing a one stop student service to existing
students.
Our collegues from Retail, Dining & Housing Division
(RDH), have also been working hard to bring in new and exciting
food and retail outlets at YIH. Ms Ong Sock Hwee, Manager
of RDH tells us more about the division through an email
interview.
Come share with us the festive cheer of Chinese Lunar New
Year, which was filled with exciting activities. Everyone,
regardless of race, joined in the fun.
What can be more enticing than to read our latest issue
