  GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR THE CENTRE FOR TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE (CeTM)

On 8 April 08, Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong visited Kent Ridge Campus and officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new state-of-the art building - Centre for Translational Medicine (CeTM). Zamri Bin Rahmat and Abdul Rahman go about their daily duties at the University Hall Security Post and at the OED Transport Services Office just like any ordinary day. Zamri handles customer enquiries at the University Hall lobby, his eyes ever watchful to ensure nothing goes amiss at the University Hall, where lots of things happen daily. When distinguished visitors visit the NUS President, and other key staff at University Hall, Zamri is often assigned to take care of the security details for these high profile visits...

        NETWORKING TEA SESSION WITH OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES (OHR)

We were delighted to invite OHR to join us for an afternoon tea on 17 April 08. It was a fruitful session where management staff from both offices were able to share and exchange their views on the improvements made within their department, leading to better services for the NUS community. Meanwhile, we took this opportunity to inform OHR about OED's new initiatives and provide them with updates on our latest projects. This event not only helped us gain a better understanding of OHR, we also got to meet old friends and make new ones within the NUS campus...

From your perspective, what were the reasons behind your win?
I never thought about winning. To me, it's my duty to provide good customer service and be responsive to customer needs and always try my best to manage to meet customers' deadlines and requests.
I have a good coach and mentor (Mr Sulaiman Salim, Senior Manager). He is always patient and thinks positive of his staff, who nominated me for this award. I am also thankful to Mr Michael Ng, Director of OED, who fully supports the nomination...
