Why did you decide to come to NUS?

I believed an NUS experience would enable me to broaden my horizons beyond Singapore shores. Indeed, NUS offers a wide spectrum of disciplines for students to choose from, and boasts a myriad of collaborations and programmes with universities worldwide.

Fondest memory at NUS

My fondest memory at NUS would be the opportunity to represent the University on the global stage in The Copenhagen Competition: Protocol on Climate Change. I had the privilege to befriend like-minded individuals from around the globe and make meaningful friendships that last long after the competition is over. The experience also afforded me the chance to meet the Danish Prime Minister, an experience which is rare to say the least.

Balancing studying, family, friends and work

While studies and work are undoubtedly important, there is a need to remember your family and friends who support you along the way. Do take a few moments from your busy schedule to let them know you treasure and care for them. A little expression goes a long way.

Making Friends

Treat them as you would like to be treated, and always be true to your friends. Sincerity is of utmost importance, and trust would be nurtured over time. In addition, take the initiative to strike up conversations with your classmates, for you never know who your new good friend might be.

Dennis’ Favourites

Pastime

Performing magic for unsuspecting audiences would be it. A little magic show coupled with the subsequent exhilaration makes for a wonderful time spent.

Module

Trial advocacy, as the opportunity to go all Hollywood when cross-examining witnesses does not come every day.

Social networking website

None. I would rather spend the time over a nice cup of tea with friends.

Eating place on campus

It would have to be the Summit at the Bukit Timah campus.

Movie

The Ugly Truth is quite awesome.

Music

This is a tough choice, but Secret Garden it will be.

Thing about NUS

The broad diversity of students from across the globe, which adds so much colour and vibrancy to university life.
