The University Engineering Scholarship (UES) is open to Polytechnic Diploma holders from Singapore pursuing full-time undergraduate programmes at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) .
Eligibility
Applicants for the UES must be:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Fresh Polytechnic graduate with outstanding academic achievements (preferably Diploma with merit)
- Matriculating in full-time Engineering/Computing courses at NUS or full-time Engineering/Technology courses at NTU or full-time Science/Technology/Engineering courses at SIT or Engineering/Technology related courses in SUTD in Academic Year 2013/2014
The UES awards the following:
- Tuition Fee directly payable by students (after Tuition Grant subsidy)
- Living allowance of S$5,800 per annum
- One-time computer allowance of S$2,000
- Scholars, upon completion of the programme, will have to serve a 4-year bond working in the Engineering-related field in Singapore
- Holders of the award may not concurrently hold other bursaries or scholarships.
- UES covers the entire duration of undergraduate studies on condition that scholars maintain a minimum CAP (Cumulative Average Point). The academic performance is monitored on a semester basis.
- Scholars who withdraw from the scholarship scheme voluntarily (due to leaving their University prematurely) will be asked to pay liquidated damages (ie. amount received by the scholars from the commencement of scholarships till its termination plus 10% compounded interest).
Application & Shortlisting Procedure
- Application for the 2013 University Engineering Scholarship (UES) is planned to open in May 2013.
- Applications should be submitted to Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), the award secretariat for Academic Year 2013/ 2014.
- Application dates are subject to revision and prospective applicants are advised to check SIT's website in April-May for updates.
