The Khoo Teck Puat Scholarship (KTP) aims to award scholarships to needy students who have done well academically to pursue their first undergraduate studies in NUS.
Eligibility
Awardees must fulfill the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or People’s Republic of China (PRC) citizens
- Offered GCE 'A' levels, Diploma from a polytechnic in Singapore, equivalent qualifications (e.g. International Baccalaureate) or equivalent qualifications direct from China
- Assessed to be financially needy and have a gross monthly household per capita income of $750 and below
- Matriculating into full-time undergraduate degree courses in NUS except Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Music
Terms & Conditions
The KTP Scholarship awards the following:
- Tuition Fee directly payable by students (after Tuition Grant subsidy)
- Living allowance of S$5,800 per annum
- Annual accommodation allowance (pegged to the lowest room rates) for PRC citizens only
- One-way airfare at beginning of course for PRC citizens only
- Two-way air return passage upon graduation for PRC citizens only
- Holders of the award may not concurrently hold other bursaries or scholarships.
- There is no scholarship bond attached to the Khoo Teck Puat Scholarship. PRC scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme and serve a 3-year Tuition Grant bond under the Scheme upon graduation
- KTP covers the entire duration of undergraduate studies on condition that scholars maintain a minimum CAP (Cumulative Average Point). The academic performance is monitored on a semester basis.
- Scholars who withdraw from the scholarship prematurely will be required to refund the total value of the scholarship that is accorded during the course of study, together with 10% compound interest per annum
Application & Shortlisting Procedure
- Application for the 2013 Khoo Teck Puat (KTP) Scholarship will open from 22 April to 22 May 2013. Please download the Application Form here.
- Applicants must have:
- applied for admissions to NUS
- applied for Financial Aid through the NUS Office of Financial Aid (if you have not applied for financial aid, please click here for late application)
- Applicants are required to submit the scholarship application form and supporting documents by:

- An application will be void if (i) the scholarship application form and supporting documents do not reach the Office of Admissions by Wednesday, 22 May 2013 and/or (ii) the Financial Aid application and supporting documents are not submitted similarly by Wednesday, 22 May 2013.
- Selection interviews will be held in end June 2013. Candidates who are shortlisted for the interviews will be informed in mid-June.
