  • Singapore Citizens or PRs who are current undergraduates in an overseas university

    Admission requirements

    Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents

    • with International Qualifications
    • with qualifications in addition to the Singapore- Cambridge ‘A’ Levels and/or a Diploma from a local Polytechnic in Singapore
    • with University Degree(s)
    • who are current undergraduates in an overseas university

    Applicants seeking admission to NUS must have completed or are completing their high school, that is, at least twelve years of general education. Please select the relevant high school qualification listed below and review the admission requirements that apply to your high school qualification. In addition to fulfilling admission requirements, you should also ensure that you fufill the course subject prerequisites for the courses that you wish to apply for. 

    International High School Qualifications

    Qualifications in addition to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level/ and or an accredited Diploma from a local Polytechnic

    • Applicants presenting both the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level certificate and/or an accredited Diploma from a local Polytechnic in Singapore. 
       
      Applicants presenting the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level results should apply under Category A.  

      Applicants presenting an accredited Diploma from a local Polytechnic should apply under Category B.  

      Applicants presenting both the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level results and an accredited Diploma from a local Polytechnic should apply using either one or both of their qualifications. If they choose to submit both qualifications, they will receive two application outcomes. If both outcomes are admission offers, they are only allowed to accept one of them. 
    • Applicants presenting both the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level examination results and/or an accredited Diploma from a local Polytechnic in addition to the Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE).  

      Applicants presenting both the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level examination results or an accredited Diploma from a local Polytechnic in addition to the Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE) are not required to submit SAT I scores.  

      In addition to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level examination results or the accredited Diploma  from a local Polytechnic, the reasons for application to the respective courses will also be taken into consideration.  

      Please note that trainee teachers are bonded to the Ministry of Education (MOE) for three years upon completion of the Diploma in Education from NIE.  Such applicants should preferably apply for admission upon completion of their bond period.  Otherwise, such applicants would have to pay liquidated damages to MOE.  Applicants intending to apply for admission to NUS whilst serving their bond should seek further advice from MOE.

    Admission requirements

    Current students from NUS/ NTU/ SMU seeking a change of course/ admission

    Applicants will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level examination results (or high school equivalent) and their performance at the University, the Admissions Selection Committee will also take into consideration the applicant's reason for seeking the transfer. Applicants may be required to undergo an interview to assess their suitability for the course they have applied for. Such interviews will be scheduled at the discretion of NUS.
