Instructions for completing Online Application Form Type II
The instructions on this page apply to candidates who were not issued an Admission Personal Identification Number (PIN) by the Office of Admissions.

School candidates who have just received the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Levels results should refer to the instructions to complete the Online Application Form Type I.

Please note that the results of private candidates are not available to the University. As such, you will not be able to login with your MOE pre-assigned PIN and NRIC/FIN number to apply via the Type I application form. You will need to apply via the Type II form.

** If you are current / former (regardless of whether you have or have not graduated) student of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) and/or any other tertiary institutions (except polytechnics in Singapore, you should not be using apply under this category of application. Please find out the category of application that you belong to at http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply-to-nus.html.  

You should also refer to the online Application Guide.

The application form will be best used on Internet Explorer 7.0 or above. Kindly logout from the acknowledge page after you have submitted your application online, and close all Internet Explorer applications after logging out.

Please note that the application form is hosted on a secure site. For security reasons, you will be log out if there is no activity on the site for 30 minutes.

You can save your incomplete application form, and submit it later (by 19 March 2017) by retrieving with your NRIC/FIN and self-created PIN. If you have misplaced or forgotten the PIN, please complete your application using a new form. We are unable to provide PIN retrieval service for saved forms.

If you wish to provide details in the “Outstanding Achievements” section, please compose your text for the “Personal Statement” using a text editor and then copy it over to the application form.

Step 1:
Access the application form by selecting “Start New Form” or “Continue Form”.

This is a blank form. You must complete all the compulsory sections.

Step 2:
Refer to Page 5 of the online Application Guide for instructions.

It is compulsory for you to complete Section 4 of the application form to indicate your Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level results.

  • If you have already taken your Higher Mother Tongue at your Singapore-GCE ‘O’ Level examination and did not further sit for your Mother-Tongue Language (MTL) in your JC/CI, please indicate as follows on the online form:
    • At the “Mother Tongue / Mother Tongue Syllabus B / Subject-In-Lieu” field, choose “NA”
    • At the “Level” field, choose “NA”, and
    • At the “Grade” field, choose “NA”
  • If you have been exempted from Mother-Tongue Language (MTL) and have been issued a letter of exemption by MOE, please indicate as follows on the online form:
    • At the “Mother Tongue / Mother Tongue Syllabus B / Subject-In-Lieu” field, choose “Other Subject”
    • At the “Level” field, choose “H1”, and
    • At the “Grade” field, choose “Exempted”

Step 3:
You must create an Admission PIN (8 alpha-numeric characters & case sensitive) at Section 13 of the online application form. Please keep your Admission PIN confidential as it is required for the various online facilities (e.g. updating of contact information, checking status of application, etc) available to applicants.

Step 4:
Click the “Continue” button after you have completed all sections of the application form. You must check that all information is completed correctly before submitting the application.

Step 5:
Click the “Submit” button to file your formal admission application online. You can only submit an application for admission once in each academic year. Downloaded application forms will not be accepted. An 8-digit application number (starting with “37”) will be assigned to you if you had successfully submitted your application.

A copy of the submitted online application will also be made available on the acknowledgement page. An acknowledgement email will also be sent to the primary email address you have indicated/updated in your application.

You should save and/or print a copy of the acknowledgement page and email for your own reference. NO confirmation letter will be given.

If you do not get any instant acknowledgement page or email after submitting your online application, your submission may be unsuccessful. You should contact the Office of Admissions to check if you have successfully submitted an online application to us.

Once you have successfully submitted an online application to us, your application status will be reflected as ‘Application Received’ when you login to our Online Application Status Facility (OASF) to check the status of your application.

Step 6:
The acknowledgement page and email will indicate the list of supporting documents you are required to submit.
To complete your admission application, you must submit the required supporting documents with the Application Checklist as the cover page electronically at via the "Online Submission of Documents" facility found in the Online Application Status Facility (OASF).

Please DO NOT submit documents that are not listed on the application acknowledgement page. Submitting unnecessary documents will slow down the admission process for your application.

DO NOT submit original copies as all documents will not be returned.

The submission of supporting documents and application fee payment must be made by 19 March 2017. Otherwise your application will be deemed incomplete and withdrawn from consideration.
