What The Students Said
NUS College in Stockholm July 2005 Intake
"To immerse yourself in Stockholm, you have to experience it firsthand, but if you ask me to describe it in a word, it would have to be "home.
Every morning I cycle for about 15 minutes through a park filled with fresh air and wet morning grass, on my way to work. Work is often an interactive affair with many discussions and everyone's opinions are listened to and noted, making it truly satisfying to come out of that meeting room, knowing you have contributed. After the first week at work, through no effort of my own, I learnt the names of everyone in the office, just by hanging out and talking to them. After work, I return home to the dormitories, have a nice dinner, and meet fellow university students from all over Europe gathered in one shared kitchen. And after that, I make my way down to the Baltic Sea, which is just behind the dormitories, for a dip in the cool water. If you get lucky, you can even catch people skinny-dipping during the summer.
Well, home is where you feel happy, secure, surrounded by many familiar faces. For me, I have found a piece of it in Stockholm."

"Attana demands quick learning and quicker application. This is "do or die" without the "die". And I love the experience!More importantly, being in the company of Attana's founders gives me the chance to resource from their experience, wisdom, attitude and vision. Here, I am motivated everyday by imagining the possibilities and witnessing the passing of milestone after milestone!"

"The most unexpected yet wonderful outcome that I gain so far in Stockholm is initiative and independence. It is imperative that one uses a lot of initiative in looking for innovative and effective solutions for problems one encounters. Expect spoon-feeding and you won't survive in the Swedish corporate culture. High EQ becomes a critical skill when you will have to approach a multitude of people for help and advice from time to time. Team spirit is strong and is a must and anything can be raised or discussed with your superiors and colleagues. In short, it's much running your own little "venture" - you get to custom-make your own working style and self-manage projects at the same time."

"My internship company was undergoing both restructuring and expansion when I joined a month ago. There could not be a better time to join the company. I am gratified for the rare opportunity to help steer the company through the transition along with my 7 colleagues. It attested to my resourcefulness, and my ability to adapt and work in a team. I look forward to more challenges over the next 11 months of my internship, during which I will seek out opportunities to learn entrepreneurship and gain new insights."
