NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering

From Executive Director of
NUS Graduate School for
Integrative Sciences and Engineering

The NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering (NGS) was established in 2003. Its role was then, and remains to this day, to enhance PhD graduate research and education within NUS. Prof Moore The reputation of NGS has grown over succeeding years and now has a current yearly intake of 60-70 graduates both from Singapore and the rest of the world. The principal purpose of NGS is to promote integrative PhD research encompassing both laboratory work and coursework programmes which not only transcend traditional subject boundaries but also provides students with a depth of experience about science and the way it is carried out which will stand them in good stead in their future careers as leading researchers in whichever scientific disciplines they choose to follow.

NGS has strong links with the relevant Faculties, Schools and Research Centres of Excellence at NUS and also the various research institutes of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). NGS has also built synergistic, complementary partnerships with a select number of leading overseas research institutes and knowledge organisations in the USA, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, and China. Thus, NGS is able to offer gifted students the opportunity to engage in research in superb research facilities both within Singapore and further afield.

Please take a few moments to look at the information on this website. Talented students with a passion and desire to do good research are cordially invited to consider NGS as their choice of graduate education.

Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to NGS!
