Understand the pathogenesis of flavivirus infections in
order to design effective antiviral or vaccine strategies
against flavivirus.

Receptor and host
signaling pathway(s) involved in virus entry.
2.
Identify potential
oligomerization sites on the virus structural proteins
during virus assembly. These sites could be ideal antiviral
target sites to prevent the formation of infectious virus
particles.
3.
Understand the
roles/mechanisms of virus-host protein interactions during
virus replication cycle. Such interactions may enhance or
suppress virus replication and could be exploited to disrupt
virus replication.
4.
Develop and optimized advance imaging technology to enhance
virus-host interaction studies.
