Received a National Science Award at the 2008 National Science and Technology Awards (NSTA).
Charanjit Singh BHATIA

1. Awarded IBM Faculty Award 2008 for his project on Fabrication, Characterization and Performance of Thin film Si  Photovoltaic (PV) cells.

2. Awaded the INSIC 2008 Distinguished Contribution Award. INSIC (Information Storage Industry Consortium) recognises his contribution to tribology and head-disk interface research for the INSIC EHDR Research Program in advanced hard disk storage technology. He is the only individual to have twice been awarded the INSIC Leadership Award (in 1998 and 2003). Click here for more details.

Michael CHEE
Awarded the National Outstanding Clinician-Scientist Award 2009 for his contribution to building research in human brain imaging and cognitive neuroscience in Singapore.
CHUA Tat Seng
Professor Chua and his group won the 2008 International Media Search Engine Competition (Star Challenge@Fusionopolis) with a prize money of US$100,000.
1. Presented the IES (Institution of Engineers Singapore) Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2010 on 4 September 2010 for his project "Membrane Science and Technologies for Sustainability in Energy and Water and for Better Quality Life".

2. Won the Hyflux-SNIC (Singapore National Institute of Chemistry) Award in Environmental Chemistry and IChemE (Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK) in Singapore Awards for Excellence and Innovation 2010 in Sustainable Technology.
CLEMENT Marie-Veronique

1. Awarded the Outstanding Researcher Award (Team Award) at NUS University Awards 2005.

2. Received an outstanding achievement award, for a paper, "Regualtion of the Na+/H+ exchanger, NHE-1 gene expression: a new target for the management of tumor cells resistance to anticancer treatment" presented at the 9th World congress on Advances in Oncology and 7th International Symposium on Molecular Medicine. Paper was selected out of 429 papers presented.

5. Prof Lee is invited by POSTECH (a new Korean university established in 1986 dedicated to Science and Technology) to take up a Korean equivalent of Temasek Professorship. He will spend 2 months each year (for the next 3 years) to help them establish a world-class programme in “Precision Control”.

Professor Lian Yong and his team at the Department of Mechanical Engineering were presented the IES (Institution of Engineers Singapore) Prestigious Achievement Award on 11 November 2011. They developed a "wearable" ECG chip for managing cardiovascular disease. The innovation led to the formation of a spin-off called Clearbridge VitalSigns in January 2001, with Prof Lian as the co-founder.

ONG Soh Khim

1. Conferred a Fellow of the International Academy for Production Engineering on 25th August 2012.  She is the 4th female in the world and the 1st in Asia to receive the award.

2. Awarded the 2009 Emerging Leaders Award in Academia for demonstrated leadership in academia, groundbreaking research in manufacturing engineering by the US Society for Women Engineers on 16 October 2009.

2. Elected as an International Fellow of the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering, United Kingdom, for his sterling contributions to engineering education and profession.

SONG Jianxing
His review paper on "insoluble proteins could be in fact solubilized in pure water" was recommended by Faculty1000 and listed as the top 1 most-reviewed paper in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and Structural Biology.

Awarded the Science Award in the President's Science and Technology Awards (PSTA) 2011 for "outstanding contributions to database systems research for managing ‘big data’ in large-scale parallel and distributed systems”
Kevin S.W. TAN
Awarded the prestigious grant from the National Research Foundation, which focuses on inter-disciplinary research. His research project is 'Fluorescent Tagged Antimalarials as Commercial Molecular Probes to Diagnose Drug Resistance and to Study Diseases".
