Congratulations to Professor Andrew Nee, NGS Management Board Member and Supervisor, being elected as Vice-President (Elect) of International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) from August 2010 and President from August 2011. He is the first ethnic Chinese (and Singaporean) to be elected President in the 60 years of CIRP history, since 1951.
CIRP is the foremost international academy dedicated to production engineering research. Its membership is limited by rigorous peer scrutiny. |

Young Scientist Awards (YSA) 2009
The YSA recognises to young researchers, aged 35 years and below, who are actively engaged in R&D in Singapore, and who have shown great potential to be world-class researchers in their fields of expertise. This award is organised by the Singapore National Academy of Science and supported by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
Recipients receive a trophy, certificate of commendation and a prize of S$10,000.

Faculty Sculptures
The Faculty Sculptures project is an interactive carving effort involving the NUS community of alumni, students, staff and faculty from the various NUS Faculties and Schools.
The themes of NGS sculpture "Integration" are that of integration, synergy, different faculties/origins, common goal, and global connection.
