The aim of this competition was to create a logo for the NGS Scholars’ Alliance which was formed in 2005. This competition allowed the NGS students to come up with their novel and innovative ideas in order to create a logo for the NGS Scholars’ Alliance. Six logos were submitted and ExCo, NGS Staff and NGS students were able to vote for their favorite. The winner is Liu Bing, a 3rd year student from China. His logo is formed by 3 letters: NGS, and consists of 3 elements:
- Gear: stands for Engineering
- DNA: stands for Biology
- Binary code: stands for Computing
The integration of the 3 elements represents the inter-disciplinary nature of NGS.
The logo uses 2 ‘NUS’ colors:
- Blue: denotes integrity
- Orange: denotes passion
