Dialogue Session with NGS Supervisors

The success of NGS depends on many factors.  Having outstanding graduate students is important, but supervisors also play a crucial as they help to shape, to groom and nurture our PhD talents.   NGS tries to engage supervisors and to solicit their views and feedback, through various channels.   The Dialogue Session with NGS Supervisors is one, held at least once every semester.

The session on 7 April 2011, Thursday was well-attended.  Prof Li Baowen, Executive Director, NGS, shared some of the latest changes to its policies and guidelines, related to PhD Qualifying Examination,  Academic Performance requirements and Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC), just to name a few.

We witnessed simulating and vivacious discussions among the supervisors, who voiced their honest opinions and thoughts about issues and some offered very useful suggestions and ideas for NGS to ponder over.
