In the wake of a string of catastrophic events such as economic crises, major corporate failures and the rise of new environmental risks and uncertainties, organisations all over the world are now facing increasing and conflicting pressures from their stakeholders demanding more protection and the guarantee of a safer and better managed risk environment. As a result of the negative economic and social impact of the mismanagement of risks, governments all over the world have focused more and more on mechanisms to improve corporate governance and risk management leading to strong policy and regulatory development over the past 10 years.

Compliance requirements have now become a RISK affecting many organizations due increasing number and often conflicting regulations applicable around the world. Such environments do not provide clear visibility into the organisations' risk and compliance profile, create risks, deteriorate performance, and escalate the cost of compliance.

Hence the essential purpose of the CCRO™ program is to equip Risk & Compliance professionals with the knowledge and tools to create a GRC strategy (Governance, Risk & Compliance) that includes an effective system and corporate culture that integrate, business ethic, proper governance and effective compliance.

Eligibilty for Prospective CCRO^TM applicants:

• Hold a university degree from an accredited institution
• Possess a minimum of 1 years of professional experience

Programme Structure & Curriculum

The program consists of 5 workshop modules and provides a comprehensive and structured learning path both in scope and depth covering the field of Compliance Risk Management:

The Essentials of Enterprise Risk Management
CCM8	Business Ethics and Social Responsibility	1 day/7 hrs
EKM13	Compliance Risk Management	1 day/7 hrs
The Key Steps of the Risk Management Process
EKM6	Corporate Governance & Risk Management	1 day/7 hrs
EKM7	Fraud Risk Management	1 day/7 hrs
EKM8	Internal Audit & ERM	1 day/7 hrs

 

Each workshop module consists of 1 intensive day/7hours of contact hours. The 5 workshop modules are spread over 4 months. The physical time on campus represents 5 days as follows:

• Attend 2 foundational modules on Compliance risk management (CCM8 & EKM13) - 3 days
• Attend the 3 areas of practice modules (EKM6, EKM7 & EKM8) - 3 days

The modular structure of the program, allows participants to balance work and study at the same time.

To obtain the Certification, participants are required to pass successfully the required Assessment for accreditation purposes (more information in the section: Program Assessment)

Training Method, Formats and Program Faculty

All program modules are conducted using a unique workshop format that fosters interaction, knowledge sharing and experiential learning. It involves a balanced mix of:

• fundamental lectures;
• interactive case presentations;
• group discussions and sharing of experience;
• problem-solving exercises including computer aided workshops;
• case simulations with 'role plays'

All with a clear focus on real Risk Management issues in an Asian context.

Program Assessment & Certification

To ensure the quality and meet the requirements of the Professional Certification, all candidates are required to:

• Attend the 5 required workshop modules.
• Take a Sit-in exam consisting of Forty five questions (multiple-choice) and is administered onsite at NUS / ARiMI Campus. The time allotted is one hour.

Upon successful completion of all the required modules, project assignment & exam, candidates will be awarded the professional designation of:

• Certified Compliance Risk Officer (CCRO™) by the Asia Risk Management Institute

and the

• Certificate in Regulatory Risk & Organizational Compliance by NUS Extension

Beyond CCRO™: Professional Development
