Course Objectives
- To prepare Human Resource professionals to acquire emerging leadership competencies to take on future challenges in globalised organisations
- To update Human Resource professionals with new and emerging competencies
- To provide the Human Resource professionals the learning tools to undertake professional lifelong learning
Module 1 – Strategic Business and Human Resource Strategies (Victor Kow)
- Understanding the implications and impacts of business strategies on human resource issues
- Acquire competencies to formulate HR strategies and demonstrate their alignment with business strategies
- Acquire competencies to consult and partner with business stakeholders in formulating HR strategies
Module 2 – Strategic HR Implications for Global and Business Trends (Victor Kow)
- Understanding globalisation and its impact on human resource management with scenario planning skills
- Acquire competencies to recommend practices to address the impact of globalisation
- Acquire competencies to identify and address relevant HR issues in business environmental change and business directions
Module 3 – Strategic Financial Competencies for HR Leaders (Chen Shian Jan)
- Understanding the essential knowledge and skills in financial issues in organisational and HR matters
- Acquire competencies of financial implications and impacts of HR initiatives and programmes
- Acquire competencies of using key indicators to link HR matters to business success
Module 4 – Strategic Partnership in Management (Steven Yeong)
- Understanding changing HR leadership profiles
- Acquire new and emerging leadership skills for HR Partnership in Business
- Acquire skills for determining HR practices that add value to the Business
Module 5 – Transforming and Building future organisations (Steven Young)
- Understanding the needs and approaches for leading change in today’s organisations
- Acquire the competencies of helping the organisations to learn from economic downturn and recovery
- Acquire the competencies of designing and implementing Organisation Development interventions and review
Module 6 – Leading the Talent Agenda for future organisations (Victor Kow)
- Understanding new and emerging trends of talent-driven organisational needs and initiatives
- Acquire the competencies of developing and managing talent and succession management in organisations
- Acquire the competencies of advising and handling multi-generational workforce and retaining organisational knowledge
Each module will have intensive 2 week-ends sessions on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday full day.
Thursday – 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Friday – 7: 00pm – 10:30 pm
Saturday – 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Total hours for each module are 30 hours.
Assessment will be based on 50% group class presentations with written assignment report and 50% final open book written examination.

Module 1 – January 3, 4, 5, 17, 18 and 19. Examination: January 24.
Module 2 – January 31, February 1, 2, 14, 15 and 16. Examination: February 21.
Module 3 – February 28, March 1, 2, 14, 15 and 16. Examination: March 21.
Module 4 – April 4, 5, 6, 18, 19 and 20. Examination: April 25.
Module 5 – May 2, 3, 4, 16, 17 and 18. Examination: May 23.
Module 6 – May 39, 31, June 1, 13, 14 and 15 . Examination: June 20.
Examination will be held in the evening from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
