Managing Your Supply Chain The Six-Sigma Way

Synopsis

This seminar will focus on what you need to know about Six Sigma as a leadership philosophy, focussing on the supply chain. Starting from the business strategy, it provides a structured problem-solving approach, to make decisions based on data, not gut feel.

You will learn in this workshop how some of the most successful companes implemented Lean and Six Sigma into their supply chain management system to achieve millions of dollars in cost reductions, and how these companies develop and implement cost reduction and process improvement projects at its key supplier locations. You will also gain key information on how these companies identifiy projects and programmes to improve Quality, cost, and delivery. Specifically, you will discover how they maximised profitability by addressing specific problems including line balancing, design of experiments, theory of constraints and tools of Lean and Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.

In the workshop, you can practise in teams and get hands-on experience to take away and then identify initiatives & projects that will make a difference to the bottom line.

Application of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control).

This practical workshop session will go through the basics of what you will need to know about using data effectively. From collecting and analysing data, to putting reports together which track your project�s performance, you will learn what you need to know in order to get started with the process.

You will learn in team-based hands-on laptop exercises-
  • How to Define a project and select the key measures
  • How and what to measure, in the Measure phase, and to ensure that you can trust your data and/or operators
  • We will share some data analysis techniques and look at how we can improve our process in the Analyse and Improve phase
  • Finally we will look at how and what to Control to ensure that we sustain our improvements.
