Healthcare Systems,Technologies & Standards
Synopsis
Many types of system exist in a healthcare environment. Each system has its own technologies and interfaces, thus creating an environment where multiple disparate systems and technologies have to co-exist and interact with one another to provide for basic healthcare services. Over the years, a number of standards have been proposed and practiced. This course examines the technologies, standards and semantic and interface interoperability of healthcare systems. Topics covered include: Hospital Information System, Clinical decision support, Electronic Medical Record, Electronic Health Record, Workflow Automation, Coded terminologies and nomenclatures, Data interchange standards, SNOMED, HL7, DICOM, LOINC, ICD-9.Prerequisites
