Entrepreneurship through the route of Franchising
Synopsis
This one-day course is jointly offered and awarded by NUS Extension and Franchising and Licensing Association of Singapore (FLA) in conjunction with the Franchising and Licensing Asia 2008. As more and more people, both within Singapore and outside Singapore, aspire to become their own boss (viz., entrepreneurs), franchising, naturally, becomes a top-of-mind choice. However, it is essential that these aspiring franchisees (regardless of whether they go for single-unit or a territory) have the right tools to evaluate the franchise opportunity before they plough in their hard-earned money into the venture. This course aims to meet the educational and training needs of current and potential franchisees. And franchisors who attend this course can also appreciate how their prospective franchisees would evaluate them. Currently there are more than 500 franchise concepts in Singapore with more than 36,000 franchisees operating with an annual turnover of close to S$6 billion. Potential growth in franchising business is very favorable not just locally but also internationally.
