Carlos Oliveros is the Manager of the Academy of Responsible Management. Carlos holds two BSc degrees in Political Science and Government and International Relations from the Rosario University in Colombia and a Masters in International Development and Management from Lund University, Sweden. He is a scholar of Colfuturo and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
He has conducted research in development projects for the CEPI (Centro de Estudios Politicos e Internacionales) and the Forbes Magazine Research group in Colombia; and for the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and OWW Consulting in Malaysia. Associate Professor Abhik Roychoudhury
Abhik Roychoudhury is an Associate Professor of Computer Science with School of Computing, National University of Singapore. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His research interests are in software analysis and validation with specific focus on embedded software. Abhik has published widely in premier conferences and journals in software engineering and embedded systems, with over 75 peer-reviewed publications. His research has led to scalable and usable analysis tools for embedded software which enhance software quality as well as programmer productivity. Two meaningful examples of such endeavour are the Chronos static analysis tool for ensuring time-predictable software execution, and the JSlice dynamic analysis tool for software debugging. Such tools have a substantial user-base spread across many different countries and have usage in teaching / development apart from research. Abhik's research has been recognized by various awards including ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award (from ESEC-FSE 2009) and IBM Faculty Award (2008).
Adeline Hsieh (MBA, CPA) has more than 15 years of consulting, commercial and financial experience in pre-investment due diligence, consulting, financial management, and auditing. Her career began with an international accounting firm and proceeded to a public listed property developer and has been involved in the last several years with pre-investment due diligence for local investors in a due diligence consulting and financial management capacity for infra structure projects, real estate development and business start ups.

Mr. Albert Kong is the CEO of a franchising consulting company. The company has been established for 17 years. Ben Leong is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science at School of Computing, National University of Singapore. Catherine Tay Swee Kian
Assoc Prof. Catherine Tay lectures law at NUS Business School in the Department of Business Policy and medical ethics at the Faculty of Dentistry. She is a Barrister-at-Law, of Lincoln's Inn, U.K. and an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore. She is an author of several law books including 'Contract Law' ; 'Directors' Duties and Liabilities' and 'Medical Negligence'. She has published several legal articles in prestigious international and local law journals. Catherine is also a member of the Institutional Review Board of SingHealth Polyclinics and a member of the National Healthcare Group Domain Specific Review Board tasked to review the scientific and ethical aspects of research protocols.

Along with strategic thinking and planning, he has successfully built teams and led organizations in tapping market opportunities and built foundations for sustained growth.
When Hui-Liang was Director at Cisco Systems, he had responsibility for the services business in South Asia and for the telecommunications sector (Asia Pacific). His region emerged as the top performer for Asia Pacific, having achieved 130% of target, 75% year-on-year growth, with increased market penetration and renewal rates.
He was Managing Director (South Asia) for BMC Software, and had consistently achieved revenue and P&L objectives. For several years, he initiated and brought together senior executives around the region for annual Executive Exchange. This well-embraced Forum, addressed changing trends and promoted dynamic peer-to-peer interactions.
At Electronic Data Systems, he trail-blazed new markets and put on record, closure of a US$40 million deal - then, the largest in Asia Pacific. A joint-venture entity was also formed, to deliver on the contracted services, where he further contributed as a Board Member. More than 300 employees were transitioned to the newly-formed organization.

Mr. Chia Yeow Hong has been IT Trainer since 1997 with Civil Service College, later known as IPAM (Institute of Public Administration and Management). Being a key trainer in the area of IT, and have been task to customise and create courses to cater for CSC training needs which includes Microsoft Packages and Web Design.
Mr. Chia was a Freelance trainer with NTUC Learning Center as of 2002, involved in training courses which include Microsoft packages, and web design courses. He then joined NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd in 2006 as a full time trainer, being task with training and courseware development. Training includes, Microsoft Packages, Web design, RFID.
Dr. Chin Kwee Nyet (Ph.D., Modern Chinese Literature, University of Hong Kong) joined NUS as a Senior Lecturer in 2001, and was later appointed as the Convenor for the Chinese Language Programme at Centre for Language Studies (CLS). Through a collaboration with CLS, Kwee Nyet is appointed the Programme Director (Academic) of NUS Extension Intensive Mandarin Programme to ensure quality delivery of the contents by the instructors.
Kwee Nyet has been teaching Chinese language and literature courses since 1997 at NUS and the Open University (UniSIM) as a part-time lecturer. Before taking up the teaching appointment in NUS, she was a TV anchorwoman for a Mandarin news station for 18 years. Kwee Nyet had also initiated training programmes for TV presenters and reporters at MediaCorp Media. Currently, she is teaching the following courses: "Chinese for Business and Social Sciences" and "Chinese for Science and Technology" for the Chinese Language Programme.
Ms. Cho Jin Hee is a native Korean language teacher who delivers Korean Language classes with communicative style. She had been teaching Korean language to international students mainly from Japan, China, and North America for three years at Korean Education Culture Center in Seoul, Korea. She had also conducted corporate training to Chinese managers from LG group in Korea for two months in 2004.
Jin Hee obtained her Master degree in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language from Sangmyung University in 2005 and her Bachelor degree in Korean Language and Literature from Yonsei University in 1999.
CHRISTINA DEWI is a native speaker of the Indonesian language. A scholarship recipient of Petra Christian University, Indonesia, Christina was the valedictorian of her class. She graduated with first class honors from the Faculty of Letters majoring in linguistics and literature. Christina is also a former lecturer at Petra Christian University, as well as various private institutions in Indonesia. Christina attended professional training in the principles and practice of TEFL at K-ELT in 1998 and was an EFL instructor for private companies and government agencies in Indonesia. Christina taught Indonesian level 1 and level 4 at the Centre for Language Studies, National University of Singapore from 2003-2008. In recognition of her achievements, Christina was also was also featured in Jawa Pos (one of the major Indonesian newspapers)

Christopher is also an ex-police officer who had served in the Police Coast Guard. During the stint of his Coast Guard tour, his duties included enforcing law and order in Singapore Territorial Waters, and protection of the off shore key installations.

Mr. Chow Yen-Lu is the founder and Managing Director of WholeTree Technologies, a voice technology solutions company. He is also the Executive Director of BAF Spectrum, a business angel fund with government’s support focused on early stage investments in technology and digital media, Director of Business Angel Network SEA, and Director of Expara, an entrepreneurship consulting and training practice. A successful entrepreneur, Yen-Lu had also founded AsiaWorks, a technology start-up and was involved in a turnaround situation with WholeTree.com, a Nasdaq-listed digital globalisation company.
As an active angel investor and company builder, he sits on the board of several start-ups in the region. He was a venture partner of Venture TDF, a Singapore-based venture capital firm with a global footprint, and venture advisor to S.AI.L Port Asia Pacific, regional incubation centre for speech and language technologies. He was an adjunct professor at NUS Entrepreneurship Center, and consults for governmental organisations including Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Economic Development Board and Media Development Authority. A technologist and an internationally recognised leader in interactive language technologies, Yen-Lu holds 6 international patents. He was appointed as Distinguished Technologist at Apple where he was responsible for developing PlainTalk, Apple’s voice user interface system and the first speaker-independent speech product to be shipped on a mainstream personal computer platform; the Chinese Dictation Kit, Apple’s ground-breaking Chinese dictation product that won the Best-of-Best Product Award in Comdex Asia. He invented the unified Chinese language computing architecture, and led the development of multi-modal user interfaces for Asian language computing that received the prestigious Singapore’s NSTB Technology Innovation of the Year award.
Yen-Lu received his MS and BS degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, and successfully completed Apple’s MBA and Mentoring programmes for senior managers.
Mrs. Chutima Chutatape graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia under the Colombo Plan Scholarship. She was also awarded the Graduate Scholarship to study at Mahidol University in Bangkok. Chutima lectured at Anatomy Department, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand before she started teaching Thai language to businesspeople, military personnel and expatriates in Singapore.
Cindy Hales is a graduate of The London College of Fashion & Clothing Technology. For more than 25 years, she’s been a design consultant/lecturer in the fashion industry.
She is the VP & resident costume designer of Players Theatre- a non profit children’s theatre company supported by National Arts Council.
Cindy Hales Collections have been exhibited both locally at various local designers’ exhibitions & internationally at The Osaka Designers’ Exhibition; a trade mission exhibition supported by The Trade Development Board Singapore.
She was costume designer for these productions; Luna-Id’s The lover and The Dumb Waiter, The Physicists which played at The Durrenmatt Festival; it won Production of the Year at the 2005 Life! Dr. Constance Chay-Nemeth received her Ph.D. in Public Affairs and Issues Management from Purdue University, U.S.A. in 1998. She has more than 14 years of experience in the fields of education and communication both in the United States and Singapore. She teaches, trains, consults and researches in crisis management, public and corporate communications, public relations writing, campaigns and case studies, and health communication, among others. Besides training and consulting, Constance is also an adjunct instructor in business communication at a local university. She also held previous teaching positions at the Nanyang Technological University and Slippery Rock University (USA).
Constance has worked with a variety of organisations including Baxter International; Ogilvy Public Relations Singapore; the Public Relations Academy of the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts; NUS; Jackson, Jackson and Wagner (USA), and Sage Marcom Communications (USA). Constance Kirker is an Assistant Professor of Integrative Arts at Penn State University, Brandywine, Pennsylvania PA, USA . She has been teaching Asian Art History at the University for more than 23 years and continues to teach Asian Art History on-line for Penn State while on leave living here in Singapore. Professor Kirker has trained as a guide in the Singapore National Museum while living here in the 1980s, in working with the guide in Singapore at the Asian Civilizations Museum and writes for the museum publication, Passages.

Mr. Douglas Abrams is an Adjunct Associate Professor with NUS Entrepreneurship Centre. He is also the Managing Director at Parallax Capital Management in Singapore, where he co-manages the private equity business. Prior to joining Parallax, Douglas managed information technology at JPMorgan for 13 years where from 1997 to 1999, he was Global Markets Head of Internet Marketing, and from 1991 to 1997, he was VP and Manager of Investment Banking Technology. Douglas graduated from Annenberg School, University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Communications and received an MBA from the Wharton School.
Edmund Tai is the Consulting and Operations Director of Psyscan Consulting. He is responsible for the implementation of behavioral training programmes, development of all new businesses, client management and all training programs. He is an active trainer with many MNCs clients in the area of applying Behavioural Sciences and Psychology in various aspects of improving organizational behaviour.
Edmund is also the client director of Intuit.Sense Consulting, an affiliate firm of Psyscan Consulting, whose key business is in the advisory and solutions provision in Talent Management. Ms. Elizabeth V. Cardoza holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) NUS degree and a Master of Education (Adult Education) postgraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. As a member of both the California Bar and the Singapore Bar, her Intellectual Property (IP) career spans over two decades: first as Examining Attorney, Registry of Trademarks & Patents, Singapore and then as California Attorney-at-Law, and in-house IP Counsel to a leading U.S. software corporation in the Silicon Valley. Between 2002 and 2006, she headed the Legal Policy & International Affairs Division of Singapore’s national IP office, the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) focused on domestic and international IP issues, IP negotiations in bilateral and multilateral agreements, and consequential legislative amendments.
A firm advocate of proactive networking, she has been active in industry and professional groups such as the California Bar Association, TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur), and the International Trademark Association (INTA) (as past chair of the Public Education subcommittee of the Brand Names Education Foundation, and regional member on the Alternative Dispute Resolution committee). Dr. Er Jwee Ping, Programme Director of Asian Risk Management Institute, is also an adjunct faculty with the NUS Business School and Singapore Management University. He has many years of experiences in teaching and consulting. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (1st Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore, an MA (Applied Economics) and PhD (Risk Management and Insurance) from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Eu Lee Koon is the Founder and Executive Director of Capital Plus Pte Ltd. Mr. Felix Cheong (M.A., Philosophy in Creative Writing) was the recipient of the National Arts Council's Young Artist of the Year for Literature Award in 2000. His three books of poetry are Temptation and Other Poems (1998), I Watch the Stars Go Out (1999) and Broken by the Rain (2003). His work has been published in newspapers, poetry websites, foreign journals and 6 anthologies of Singaporean poetry. In 2001, he was the only foreign writer to be invited to both the Brisbane Writers' Festival and the Queensland Poetry Festival. He also read at the 2002 Queensland Poetry Festival.
As an editor, Felix helped put together Reshma Aquil's first collection of poetry Sleeping Wind (2001). He was also the guest-editor for a special feature on Singaporean poets on Slope poetry website and Papertiger (a CDROM anthology published in Australia). A mentor under the NAC's Mentor Access Programme, Felix has conducted a number of creative writing workshops in schools in Brisbane and Singapore. A literary activist, he has been actively involved in promoting Singaporean literature abroad. He was also instrumental in organising and leading a Singapore contingent on 3 successful reading tours - The Philippines (January 2001), Australia (July 2001) and the US (April 2002).
Professor Feng Pao Hsii is currently an Adjunct Professor with Faculty of Medicine, NUS and a consultant physician and rheumatologist. He studied medicine in the University of Hong Kong and Malaya (Singapore branch) and did postgraduate work in the USA, UK and Israel. Having practised medicine in institutions for the past 40 years, he recently retired from the Ministry of Health to pursue other interests including public education and medical informatics. In addition to his own private practice in rheumatology and internal medicine, he is a visiting consultant physician to two restructured hospitals. He is also active in charity work as Chairman of the National Arthritis Foundation.
Prof. Feng is a member of a number of prestigious medical societies both locally and overseas. He is a Fellow of six overseas Colleges of Medicine and has spoken at numerous medical meetings internationally, regionally and locally. He has authored over 120 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed and edited a number of medical books, medical journals and newsletters.
For services rendered to the area of Medicine, he received the Public Administration Medal (gold) from the Government of Singapore in 1997.
Associate Professor Frederic Levy
Frederic currently holds the position of Scientific Evaluator at Debiopharm SA where he is responsible for evaluating oncology in-licensing opportunities. Frederic is also the Vice- President of the Swiss Society for Biochemistry, a Board member of “Platform Biology”, Swiss Academy of Sciences and Associate Professor at the University of Lausanne.
Previously he was the Group Leader, at the Ludwig Insititute for Cancer Research, focusing on oncology therapeutics and the development of cancer vaccines where he managed a technicians). Gary Tan was a pioneer in the Direct Honours Programme of the National University of Singapore and received his BSc (1st class Honours) from NUS. He received his MSc and PhD from the University of Manchester, UK. He has been lecturing with the School of Computing , National University of Singapore since 1990, and was the recipient of Teaching Awards of the Faculty of Science in both 1992 and 1998, the Teaching Excellence Awards from the School in 1999 and 2002, and more recently, the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award for 03/04, 04/05 and 06/07. Dr Geoffrey Williams MA(cantab), MA(oxon), MA(econ), PhD, FRSA, FMIM, is a Founder and Director of the Academy of Responsible Management Sdn Bhd. He is also Chief Executive Officer of OWW Consulting in Malaysia and Singapore and a Director of Opinion Tiger Sdn Bhd. He has designed and directed numerous research projects for the UK Government (DTI), European Commission (DG-Research), and European Standards Agency, among others. Hazel Low received her Masters of Engineering (MEng) from University of Leeds with specialization in Microwave Engineering in 1999, under the sponsorship of Commonwealth Scholarship. She worked as a Research Scientist in a local company in the same year. She pioneered research efforts in pulse power technology for 4 years and set up High Voltage Laboratory, which qualified both work and health hazards safe. In her last role, Hazel managed R&D projects in a government organisation. Her profile includes pulse power technology, electromagnetic compatibility, antenna design and cognitive sciences.

Prof Hum Sin Hoon obtained his B. Commerce and B. Engineering (Hons) as a Colombo Plan Scholar from the University of Newcastle, Australia. He received his PhD in Production/Operations Management from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA.
Prof Hum had earlier served as the Dean of the NUS Business School. After several years, Prof Hum is back into the deanery and is currently serving as the Vice-Dean for Undergraduate Studies. Dr. Jay Sian Eira
Dr. Sian has a doctorate in Social Anthropology from Oxford University. Since coming to Singapore 15 years ago, she has pursued her other great passion for art and design, which she lectures and writes about in a variety of capacities. She has run highly popular art and design appreciation courses for students and the public. Mr. John A Spears had more than 30 years of experience in the leadership business. Dr. John Miksic is an Associate Professor of Southeast Asian Studies Programme in NUS. His teaching interests include Art and History of Pre-modern S.E. Asia, Classical civilizations of S.E. Asia and Archaeology of S.E. Asia. Some of his publications include The Legacy of Majapahit, National Heritage Board (Singapore) 1995, The Java Sea Wreck Archaeological Report, Annapolis: Pacific Sea Resources, 1997 and Sculpture in Sumatra: classical in The Dictionary of Art, London: Macmillan, 1997. Besides his teaching services in NUS, John also offers consultation services at National Parks Board (Singapore). He acts as an advisor for the Fort Canning History Centre Project, conducts archaeological excavations and supervises constructions of designs for displays for Fort Canning Hill. John is a member of Asian Civilizations Museum Board and Knowledge Net Advisory Board in cooperation with Singapore National Archives.

The investment was around US$ 1.3 billion. Prior to switching to the commercial-service business world, he was the regional General Manager as a pioneer in the business development of Southeast Asia and China markets for Japanese and Canadian high-tech equipment. These turn key solutions range from a low of US$ 1 million to a high of US$ 20 million per business deal. Hence, favourable financing of these projects was one of the most importat criteria for wining the contract. Dr Chan successfully helped many companies to acquire their loans from the international bank syndicate.

A qualified and experienced teacher, Ms. Julie Khoo has conducted workshops on The Power of Body Language in Networking and Interviews at the NUS Business School. Ms. Kim Ji Min worked as a trainer at Amore Pacific Corporation which is the biggest cosmetic company in Korea since December 2004 where she was involved in planning, conducting courses and training. She also volunteered during the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup tournament as an interpreter. Currently, she assists NUS Extension in its Korean Language Program (KLP) as a Coordinator. She leads the classes with "Communicative style".
Ji Min graduated from Kyung Hee University with a B.A. in Business Administration. She received training in teaching Korean as a foreign language at Kyung Hee University in 2006.
Ms. Kim Kwang Ok is a native Korean who started teaching Korean as a foreign language with then NUS Extramural Studies from 1991 to 1993 and she rejoined NUS Extension in August 2007 with new communicative teaching methodologies. Living more than 20 years in Singapore has made Kwang Ok understand her Singaporean students well. She is approachable and patient to all her students.
Kwang Ok graduated from Seong Shin Women's University in Seoul in 1986, majoring in English literature and Japanese Language.
Koh Toh Guan is an accounting and finance professional who has more than 20 years experience in industry, professional firms and banks. The positions he occupied included financial controller, chief financial officer, director of financial and bank consulting, vice president and director in banks. Being a certified teacher and qualified accountant, Toh Guan’s higher degree is in finance.
Krist has extensive and diverse experiences in security work and knowledge of work processes both in the public and private security industries. In the past 9 years in law enforcement and security fields, he has accumulated a unique mix of experience, skills and knowledge in law enforcement, surveillance, protection of key installation, security system integration fields in both corporate and government entities.
Krist was an auxiliary police officer who held the rank of Staff Sergeant (Acting INSP) in the AETOS Auxiliary Police Force and concurrently Business Development Manager, AETOS Security Management. He was also the Chief Trainer of the Security Operations Section of AETOS Auxiliary Police Force Training Academy, as well as a founding member of the security risk assessment and audit section of AETOS Auxiliary Police Force.
Krist is an active Operationally-Ready National Serviceman with the Singapore Police Force who held a previous appointment of Troop Team Leader, Police Key Installation Unit. He had served as a Police Officer with the Tanglin Police Division of the Singapore Police Force.

Associate Professor Lau Geok Theng
The research interests of Associate Professor Lau Geok Theng are in the areas of business-to-business marketing, relationship marketing, purchasing and supply chain management and Asia-Pacific Marketing. He had conducted market studies and advised business firms in Singapore on effective marketing strategies. Some of these companies include Kintetsu World Express (S) Pte Ltd, Tong Gardens Food Products (S) Pte Ltd, Singapore Telecommunications Limited, Delifrance Singapore and Asia-Pacific Breweries. He has also conducted seminars for L’Oreal Singapore, MINDEF and Jurong Town Corporation.
Geok Theng has co-authored five books on marketing, starting a small business, the Growth Triangle and improving productivity through human resource development and franchising. His articles have appeared in various regional and international journals as well as conference proceedings. He is a governing council member of the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management.
Geok Theng obtained his BBA (Hons) from NUS and his PhD. in Business Administration from Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in Canada.
Mr. Lau Tat Chuan (Management)
Tat Chuan has extensive management experience in the corporate sector. He started his career in contract manufacturing, working with line supervisors and line leaders to start up and manage the process for liquid crystal display products. Desiring to move into the service industry, Tat Chuan then went into change management consulting with an international firm of management consultants. Some years later, he was offered an HR management position in a regional conglomerate that had businesses in paints, electronics, hospitality and real-estate.
Tat Chuan then took a break to do his MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management. After his MBA, he went into banking as a corporate banker with a global financial services company. His last position with the bank was managing a team of analysts to assess the bank’s credit risk exposure to customers in the real-estate, manufacturing, commodity-trading, retail and conglomerate industries.
Apart from his MBA, Tat Chuan also holds a Bachelor of Electrical & Computer Systems Engineering from Monash University; a Master of Arts in HRD from the George Washington University; and a Postgraduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Massachusetts. He is also certified to consult with the Harrison Innerview and FIRO-B instruments.
Mr. Laurence Chan has been involved in the private equity and venture capital industry in Singapore since 1990. He has extensive experience in private equity and venture capital investments, fund management, corporate finance and IPOs, financial management, and working with technology start-ups.
Laurence started his career as an engineer in the Ministry of the Environment. Following that, he moved on to various managerial positions in corporate finance, commercial banking, and investment banking in several international banks. Laurence also started two technology venture capital firms and was active in private equity investments in Asia. He was the General Manager of a distribution company in Hong Kong which was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under his marketing and operational expertise.

Ms. Lee Yumiko has lectured at Department of Japanese Studies, NUS from 1983 - 1991. She has also taught Japanese Language in various institutions in Singapore such as Singapore Poly and Singapore American School as well as at in-service training in multi-national corporations and statutory boards. Currently, she teaches at Center for Language Studies, NUS. Yumiko is also MD of J. Highways Pte Ltd, which organises Japan Immersion Programmes for learners of Japanese Language to experience Japan’s culture and communicate with local Japanese there. She is also a trained professional simulational interpreter in Japanese/English.

Leong Kwok Keong is currently a lecturer in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He joined Ngee Ann in 1993 and had taught in numerous finance-related modules including Financial Accounting, Accounting software like MYOB and Accpac, Introduction to Banking and Financial Institutions in Singapore and Corporate Finance and basic Computing Concepts. Currently, he is involved in teaching modules on “Decision Support with Spreadsheets” which covers the use of Microsoft Excel to solve business problems.
Before joining Ngee Ann Poly, Kwok Keong was involved in implementing Banking and Credit Card systems in banks. The banking software was Midas and the credit card software was CardPac.

Mr. Lim Thou Liang has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, which includes 10 years of training experience in system courses, specialising in the complete range of Microsoft BackOffice products. As one of the pioneer MCTs and MCSE in Asia, Thou Liang has been an early starter in Microsoft technology. Luciano Pezzotta is the Lead Blue Ocean Strategy Consultant in the UCSI BOSRC. He has led many successful BOS initiatives in many companies spreading across multi-industry and around the region. Mrs. Meenu Sarin is a microelectronics professional with over 18 years’ experience in the microelectronics industry across various facets of operations & across geographies like Europe, India, Singapore, Greater China and Australia and with special focus in the semi custom ASIC environment. She has registered her company, VLSI Consultancy, in Singapore from where she works as a free-lance consultant. PHAM Nhu Quynh is a native of Hanoi. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Hanoi, where she majored in linguistics. After graduation in 1992 she worked full-time with the Centre for Vietnamese and Intercultural Studies, National University of Hanoi as a Vietnamese language teacher from April 1993 to October 2001. The Centre received foreign students, in particular post-graduate and more recently undergraduates, into Vietnam to conduct field research, joint projects, and Vietnamese language studies. She thus has extensive experience in teaching the Vietnamese language to foreign students. She has co-authored, together with other Vietnamese language teachers of the Centre, a Vietnamese language course book for foreigners, titled Vietnamese Language in practice for Advanced Learners and A Concise Vietnamese Grammar.
After graduating with B.A. in English Studies from Chiang Mai University, Thailand in 1998, she pursued her M.A. in English Language and Literature at National University of Singapore. During her post-graduate study, she worked as a Thai part-time tutor for Southeast Asian Studies Program for one and a half years. In 2001, she joined NUS as a full-time instructor. Presently, she is a Thai Lecturer at the Centre for Language Studies.

Mr. Rauzi Bin BurhemPrior to joining STET Homeland Security Services (STET HLS) as a Security Consultant, Rauzi Bin Burherm was the Security Manager of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), Singapore.
As the Security Manager in HSBC, Rauzi was instrumental in upgrading the in-house security department SIRD grading from a Grade D to Grade B and conducted the in-service training to all the security officers and relevant bank staff on all security related matters such as armed hold-up courses, identification of IED, bomb threat call and many others.
Prior to joining HSBC, Rauzi was with CISCO as a Senior Officer in charge of a Sector for Operational experience and was subsequently posted to CISCO Police Training as their trainer. Seah Tzi-Yan has worked in the visual arts market since 1988, when she joined the then Art Base Gallery. In 1991, she and her partner began a small gallery supporting Singapore and Southeast Asian art at the Substation. A few years later she was involved in the incorporation of the Art Galleries Association (Singapore), and then in 2000 with ARTSIngapore, now an international Asian art fair, for which she is currently an advisor. Ms. Seo Ji Yun is a native Korean. She had years of experience in teaching Korean and Japanese to foreigners in Japan and Singapore. Ji Yun has a Master’s degree in Educational Informatics and a Bachelor degree in Art and Letters (Japanese Education) at Tohoku University. Mr Seraj is the Convenor for the Arabic Language Programme at the Centre for Language Studies (CLS); he joined CLS in March 2009. He is a native speaker of Arabic and speaks English, French, and some German. Apart from teaching linguistics, he has been teaching English (ESL, EFL) and Arabic (AFL) in a variety of teaching settings for over seven years now. As an AFL lecturer, he last taught at the University of California San Diego.
Ms. Shubha Narayanan is the Managing Partner of HR Strategies, in Asia. She has over 17 years of consulting and industry experience. Till recently, she was Senior Consultant and Practice leader with Towers Perrin, Singapore, in the Change Management and Human Resource Management practice. She began her consulting career with KPMG Peat Marwick in India and continued with them in Dubai, in their Management Consultancy Division. Assoc Prof (Adjunct) Simon Poh, (FCPA Singapore, MBA (NUS), B Acc (NUS)) is currently the Tax Director of a tax consultancy firm. Simon has about 22 years of experience in tax compliance and tax advisory work in the areas of corporate tax, individual income tax and goods and services tax. This includes 9 years of experience with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, 3 years with reputable regional multi-national corporations and 10 years with top international accounting firms. Prior to joining Asia Pacific Business Consultants Pte Ltd, he was heading Singapore tax practice in the world’s fifth largest international accounting firm.

Dr SNG Bee Bee is currently an Associate Lecturer in “Developing Effective Communicative Skills in Occupational English” with NUS Extension, Singapore. In the past, she has also taught Communication Skills in the Language and Communication Centre, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore for nine years. She graduated with an E.D.D. specializing in Education Management from the University of Leicester, UK and Master of Arts (English Studies) from the National University of Singapore. She has spent almost ten years teaching professionals and employees in the industries which include nurses, engineers, laboratory workers and office executives. Her research interests are educational change, English for Specific Purposes, English as a Foreign Language and more recently, e-learning.
Soo Yuen Jien is a Lecturer with the Department of Computer Science at the National University of University (NUS). He is a winner of multiple teaching awards, including the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award for 2007/8, Faculty Teaching Excellence Award for 2006/7, 2007/8 and 2008/9, and Best Teaching Assistant Award before that. Dr Soo obtained his BSc (Honours), MSc and PhD from NUS in 1999, 2000 and 2006 respectively. Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese, he is an alumnus of Chong Hwa Independent High School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where most classes are conducted in Mandarin. His research interests lie in the areas of Computer Architecture and Parallel Computing.
Mr. Stefen Chow, born in 1980, describes his approach as ‘photography from the front line’ – the front line here is far from the edge of the studio lights; it is up in the heights of Everest and the cold depths of the Himalayas and Karakorams. He finds joy and satisfaction in juggling the risks of mountaineering and capturing the moment.
One of the Singapore's outstanding mountaineers, Stefen has made significant ascents in Nepal, Tibet and Pakistan. Stefen's work has since been featured in publications and closed exhibitions. They have also been marketed overseas. Besides being a photographer, Stefen is also a motivational speaker for corporations and educational organisations. Having spoken at more than 50 talks, his favourite topic is passion, where he is able to relate classroom skills onto life and death decisions on the mountain.

Mr. Syu Wei Bing (MA. in Sciences, Dept of Journalism and Mass Communications, Iowa State University) was an experienced media professional in Taiwan before he joined NUS as a language lecturer in 1996. Mr. Syu's teaching areas include news reading broadcasting materials and editorial works. In addition, some of his research interests include applications of oral and body language to teaching.
Cheng Yian was the R&D Technology Manager from Agilent Technologies, responsible for technology roadmap, platform development and R&D competence development of Agilent Measurement Systems Division.
Cheng Yian joined Hewlett-Packard Singapore in 1982 after graduating from the National University of Singapore with a first- class honors degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He took on various technical positions in the Test and Measurement business unit of Hewlett-Packard.
Cheng Yian started his management career in Hewlett-Packard (Later became Agilent Technologies) in 1990 as Services and Support Manager in Singapore. He later expanded his role to cover south Asia through his leadership in building support organizations in countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Australia and India. In 1996, Cheng Yian became the Services & Solutions Division Regional General Manager in Asia. Cheng-Yian achieved significant business growth and profits throughout his various service and support management positions.
Cheng Yian joined Agilent Systems Division in July 1999 as Global Solution Delivery manager. He moved to Loveland Colorado, US to lead a R&D team to develop system platforms. He returned to Singapore in May 2001 and continued his R&D management career.
Cheng Yian enjoys managing multi-cultural and global teams. He finds it very rewarding to build a team from zero, grow the team capability, establish business processes and have the team deliver results. Before he left Agilent, Cheng Yian established a software R&D team in China, Beijing for his service division and a R&D team in Singapore to take over the charter of In-Circuit System development from US. He led his R&D teams successfully launched many new services and products including the award winning in-circuit test innovations in 2007.

Associate Professor Tan Kay Chuan
Tan Kay Chuan is an Associate Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Acting Director of the Office of Quality Management in NUS. He teaches and does research in the areas of quality and service management, and human factors engineering. With over 10 years of experience, he regularly conducts short courses and consults on the use of quality tools.
Mr. Tan Lye Huat is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD, UK), the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN, UK), the International Policy Governance® Association (IPGA, USA), the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID). Mr. Tan is a founding member of the Policy Governance® Association of the UK (UKPGA) and contributes to the corporate governance initiatives of a number of other prominent bodies.

TCM was his interest and he graduated from the Institute of Chinese Medical Studies and obtained the full cert in TCM in 1990.
He started part-time lecturing at the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) from 1992 and the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) from 1998. Courses in both institutions were conducted in English and Chinese. There after he also lectured for the Open University courses at SIM.
He started working in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) since 2000 and is now the head for the Department of Arts Management and Education and Vice Dean for the Office of Academic Affairs.
He is a registered TCM Practitioner with the Ministry of Health, Singapore and is also practicing in his clinic set up since 2006. He is currently a committee member of the Public Free Clinic Society.
Tan Sun Teck graduated from the old Nanyang University in Singapore with a BSc in 1980 and the University of Essex, UK with MSc and PhD in 1984 and 1989 respectively. He has been lecturing in the National University of Singapore since 1989, first with the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science, and then in the School of Computing (SoC) when the Department became a fully-fledged faculty called SoC. Dr Tan has been voted Outstanding Lecturer by cohorts of students over the years, and has been named best mentor in the School. Passionate about spreading the Computing message to the younger generation, Dr Tan has been involved in organising national computing competitions and training students of various levels for regional and international computing competitions such as the prestigious International Olympiad in Informatics and ACM ICPC. Dr Tan’s research interests include Chinese Computing and Computer Aided instruction.
An MBA graduate from the prestigious Cranfield University, his senior HR experience was involved in banking, property and retail development.

Associate Professor Tan Tiow Seng
Tan Tiow Seng is an Associate Professor with NUS School of Computing. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA. Dr Tan specialises in algorithm designs, in particular, geometric algorithms. He leads a research group which focuses on geometric algorithms with applications to interactive graphics and games. In particular, their work on real-time shadowing is popular and has been adopted in the gaming community. Another noteworthy work of the group is in GPU flooding, where they have devised an efficient paradigm to solve interactive graphics problems. Dr Tan holds fives US/Singapore patents, and is also active in developing new courses and teaching methodologies. He is a two-time recipient of the NUS Teaching Excellence Award in recent years. Dr Tan is active in the development of the digital media industry, currently serving as a panel member on behalf of a government agency to evaluate funding proposals on digital media projects. Mr. Tay Jun Dong has been working as a Certified Management Consultant, specialising in SCM Logistics, International Trade and Shipping Management. His consultancy services range from organising and integrating SCM activities, operational improvements and process restructuring to global trade houses, oil companies, ship-owners, air freight terminals and container terminals, in Singapore, Shanghai and Indonesia. Presently he also teaches SCM as a part-time lecturer for Temasek Polytechnics and Singapore Polytechnics, and International Commerce under an Australian MBA programme.
Jun Dong holds a MBA from the University of Warick, MSc from University of Leicester, and MEd from Australia, B.Com (Hons) from Nanyang University and a post-graduate Diploma in Transport Economics from University of Westminister.
Since 1989, Dr. Tay lectures at NUS, currently holding the rank of Associate Professor. He also held a concurrent appointment at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, The Netherlands (TU/e) from 2002 to 2007. He was the Programme Manager of Embedded System Design at the Design Technology Institute (DTI). DTI is a Singapore registered corporation, jointly owned by NUS and Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.
Teng Tiow is a director of SMB United Ltd. SMB United Ltd is a profitable and successful medium-size public company listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange. SMB United Ltd deals with electric switchgear design and intelligent power system monitoring and control. He is also a founding member of Outreach Edusys Pte Ltd, a company that develops state-of-the-art education technology solutions and computer aided embedded software development platform.
Since 1989, Teng Tiow has received cumulative research funding of about S$1.1mil from the NUS Research Grants, Motorola Electronics, Singapore Telecoms, Texas Instruments and A*STAR. He has authored more than 70 technical papers, and a book “High Performance Control”, Birkhauser, series of Systems and Control: Foundations and Applications, 1999.
Terence Teo graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He is presently the President of The Society of Chinese Artists in Singapore. Spontaneous brushstrokes, adventurous colours and sensitive ink techniques distinguish Teo’s paintings.

Wong Lim Soon is a professor with the School of Computing and the School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. Before that, he was Deputy Executive Director for Research at A*STAR's Institute for Infocomm Research in Singapore. He is a winner of multiple awards, the most recent being the 2003 FEER Asian Innovation Gold Award for his work on treatment optimisation of childhood leukaemias. He serves on the editorial boards of Information Systems (Elsevier), Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ICP), Bioinformatics (OUP), and Drug Discovery Today (Elsevier). He is a scientific advisor to Semantic Discovery Systems (UK), Molecular Connections (India), and CellSafe International (Malaysia). Lim Soon’s current research interest is in knowledge discovery technologies, particularly their application to biomedicine. He has also done significant research in database query language theory and finite model theory, as well as significant development work in broad-scale data integration systems. He received his BSc (Eng) in 1988 from Imperial College London and his PhD in 1994 from University of Pennsylvania.
Sam is the co-founder and Managing Partner of UCSI BOSRC Singapore Office. He graduated with a first class honors in Computer Systems from the University of Wales, United Kingdom. He has worked in a large statutory board for about 22 years holding various management positions covering applications development to large-scale systems implementations.
Sam is always keen in steering strategic planning processes and facilitation of strategy formulation. Mrs. Wong Soo Leong has more than 25 years of experience in the audit area. She spent many years in one of the “Big Four” accounting firms as an auditing manager before moving to be the Group Auditing Director of a large public company in Singapore prior to her retirement. She is now a freelance accounting consultant and lecturer in Australia.
Soo Leong holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from NUS and is also a fellow of the ACCA.
Wong Yip Heng has extensive experience in Human Capital Management, having developed and implemented company-wide Training and Development programs, Human Resource systems and processes throughout his corporate journey in the retail, hotel. port management and manufacturing industries in Singapore and Malaysia.
Wong's areas of specialty are in leadership, team, organizational development and change management. He is now much into adult learning. He is a member of the Singapore Human Resource Institute and the Singapore Training And Development Association.

Associate Professor Wong Weng Fai
Wong Weng Fai is an Associate Professor with NUS School of Computing. He obtained his DrEngSc in 1993 from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, and his MSc and BSc (First Class Honours) in 1991 and 1989 respectively from the National University of Singapore. He has taught in the National University of Singapore since 1989, holding posts from Senior Tutor, to Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Apart from NUS, Dr Wong has been a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and a Fellow of Singapore-MIT Alliance. More recently, he was with the Computer Science and AI Lab of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA during his sabbatical leave from NUS between September 2006 and September 2007. Dr Wong’s chosen field of specialisation is Embedded Systems, where his research work has attracted external various funding from both national and overseas agencies.
Dr. Donald Yeo is a Neuropsychologist working in a hospital conducting clinical cognitive assessments for patients with neurological disorders, such as dementia, stroke, head injury and epilepsy. He works collaboratively with Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Psychiatrists, Geriatricians, Rehabilitation Physicians and Therapists. His main research interest is in the development of Neuropsychological test instruments for measuring cognitive change in the elderly. He has facilitated several workshops with Healthy Ageing Association and RSVP Singapore. He enjoys teaching and learning about healthy brain ageing and how to empower our active minds in our golden years.
Yoon was the Vice President and General Manager for Agilent Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, responsible for worldwide transformation of Agilent’s supply chains via the implementation of the Oracle system. He obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering from Monash University, Melbourne in 1973, and has spent 30 years working with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies in various capacities, 20 of which is in R&D. Over the years, Yoon has acquired a wide spectrum of experience ranging from high technology manufacturing, process development, equipment development, R&D and IT.
As an engineer, Yoon has more than 10 years experience in process, production, product and R&D engineering both in the fields of semiconductor as well as in the test and measurement instrumentation. Yoon spent 20 years as a technical manager, again in the areas of manufacturing, engineering, projects, R&D and IT. Over the years, he has led many product transfer initiatives into Malaysia from other facilities all over the world. Yoo was also responsible for the start up of the R&D organizations for Agilent Malaysia. His experience in this area spans across semiconductors, sub-assemblies and full box level instruments and systems. He was tasked with the responsibilities to put technology roadmaps together that will enable the company to establish strategies and realize winning product portfolios to grow revenues and increase profits.
Over the years, Yoon has demonstrated his passion for talent development and technology management by writing articles about engineers and innovation for the company as well as for the local press. He has made several public lectures on innovation, R&D and commercialization of technology.
In 2004, Yoon received the PKT (Pingat Kepujian Tertinggi) from the Penang State Government for his contribution to the development of R&D in Penang.

Zainal Abidin Hussain is currently a Security Consultant with STET Homeland Security Services (STET HLS), specialising in Security Management, Security Training and Aviation Security.
Zainal served in the Singapore Police Force from 1974 to 2002 and retired in the rank of Senior Station Inspector with the Airport Police Division. In a career that spans more than 28 years, he served in both staff and line capacities. He was appointed as the Aviation Security Special Projects Officer of a special project team to look into issuance of security directions to airline and airport operators, review of the airport security programme and tender exercises for security projects.
As part of an international consulting team engaged by the Singapore Police Force on behalf of the Singapore Government, Zainal was involved in the formulation and development of the framework and blueprint for the Regulated Agent Regime for cargo security at Singapore Changi Airport. The Blueprint is now in force as a regulatory standard in the aviation industry.
Zainal was also part of the international training team providing aviation security training to the Ministry of Communications, Department of Civil Aviation, police, immigration, customs, armed forces, internal security and security service providers in Brunei Darussalam.
In addition, Zainal took charge of the day-to-day operations of the anti-terrorist checkpoint of the JTC Corporation, and supervision and training of its contracted armed and unarmed guards. Zainal was also responsible for carrying out vulnerability and threat assessments/ reviews and putting up of security plans for companies of high economic value from the biomedical and wafer fabrication industries within its specialized parks. Based at Jurong Island Checkpoint, he is also trained as a Port Facility Security Officer.
Zainal holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with Management.
Head of Operations with STET Homeland Security Services (STET HLS), Zulkifli Bin Rahmat was formerly a senior auxiliary police officer and concurrently the General Manager, AETOS Security Training & Consultancy. Prior to that, Zulkifli was the Head Training of AETOS Security Management before a succeeding appointment of the Chief Instructor of the AETOS Auxiliary Police Force Academy.
In a career spanning more than 15 years, he has accumulated a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge in law and narcotics enforcement, investigation, surveillance, protection of key installation, aviation and maritime security fields in both corporate and government entities.
Zulkifli was the CO, External (Airport) Operations at the now defunct Changi Airport International Services (CIAS) Police Force, where he was directly managing the security operations and personnel deployed at the Changi Airport including Changi Airfreight Centre and Airport Logistics Park. He was also the CO, Maritime Operations overseeing projects for the local port facilities and shipyards in compliance with the International Ships & Port Facilities Security (ISPS) code. Prior to joining AETOS, Zulkifli was a Senior Officer with the Commercial and Industrial Security Corporation (CISCO) Police and received extensive exposure to the key processes in the protection of key installations, security manpower management, cash management and in-transit operations, enforcement support services for government bodies and statutory boards.
Zulkifli is an active Operationally-Ready National Serviceman with the Singapore Police Force who held a previous appointment of Officer Commanding, Police Key Installation Unit Provost (OC, KINS Provost). He is a registered Fire Safety Manager with the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Zulkifli holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Business & Management Studies from the University of Bradford (UK) and is currently pursuing the Master of Science in Strategic Studies with the Nanyang Technological University.
Born in 1963 in Singapore, Tan Haur has been a driving force in digital imaging art, photography, painting and underwater art making. He graduated from the Australian National University (Master of Visual Arts) with high distinction and major in digital imaging and photography. Tan Haur spearheads a pioneer digital art community program supported by the Singapore Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA); he has then been actively involved in many of the regional digital fine art activities and research.
Tan Haur was the Creative Project Consultant from 1987 to 2000, and has undertaking consultancy work for digital art and graphics-related projects worldwide. His years as the Creative Project Consultant (Mattel and Lego) saw him supervising assignments covering photography, digital imaging, loyalty programs (Kris Flyer), graphic design, advertising and promotions, exhibition and interior design photography, product design, and corporate branding programs (Epson). He has successfully merged his passion and talent together with his career in the art, digital imaging and creative industries and has proved not just to be a talented artist, but also a valuable member of the digital art community.
Prior to committing himself as a fulltime art advisor and artist, he worked as a chief curator cum manager for epSITE Digital Imaging Academy & Gallery (Singapore-Beijing-Shanghai-Tokyo) from 2000 to 2005. The post allowed Tan Haur to pursue his interests as well as to create an awareness of digital art in the region. Tan Haur spearheads a pioneer digi-art program supported by the Creative Community Singapore since year 2007, he is actively involved in organizing workshops and seminars to teach the public techniques on digital imaging and painting, photograph editing, restoring and archiving. He was the Digital Imaging Art Associate Lecturer of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from 2007 to 2008. And Tan was also the Academic Director of Raffles Design Institute, Singapore from 2008 to 2009. Tan Haur is the Digital Art Advisor and associate of: MINDS, Singapore Visually Handicapped (SVH), NLB Digital Art Program Singapore, ADAHK Hong Kong, NDP'08 Singapore, Burgmann College Australia, Very Special Art Singapore. He was the Artist in Residence at Burgmann College, Australia in 2006-2007 and NY Arts Beijing (纽约艺术•北京) in DEC 2007.
Tan Haur is a multi-disciplinary artist and his practice includes the development of individual works/exhibitions, curatorial projects and collaborations. He draws inspiration and ideas from a given location, everyday objects and daily life. He immerses himself into different environments, experiencing the differences, and experimenting different mediums and technologies in art creation and interaction, continuously in search of the relationship between Nature, Culture, Art, Media and Technology. Tan practices Zen in daily activities and the creation of art is a journey of self-discovery to understand and get closer to his very being. He likes to work on cross disciplinary projects like integrating fine art and commercial design that challenge conventions and by breaking the norm results in different alternative techniques. Tan Haur’s love for digital art, photography, painting and underwater sketching has motivated him to share this new genre with other enthusiasts around the world. He has traveled to many countries creating art at high altitudes up upon summits as well as deep down in the ocean.
He has received numerous distinctive arts awards and art contribution medals from USA, Australia, Japan, Paris and Singapore, including the Silver Award in Paris PX3 Annual Photography Competition, Visual Arts Presentation Grant Award 2010 from Singapore National Art Council, the International Photography Exhibition Overseas Grant Award 2010 from Singapore International Foundation, Visual Arts Grant Award from Lee Foundation and Arts Fund Singapore in 2010, the Community Art Program Award from Ministry of Information, Communications and Arts, Singapore in 2007, First Prize Art Award from Burgmann Mixed Media Art Competition, Australia in 2006, World Wide Web Award of Excellence, Art Space 2000 International, USA in 2005, the President’s Award (Seiko Epson Japan) and the Public Art Business Excellency Award/ epSITE Digital Imaging Academy and Gallery in 2004.

Soo Earn has more than 20 years of experience in the provision of business and financial advisory services. He has worked with corporations, private equity investors and lenders providing a range of services supporting their cross border transactions. He has considerable professional experience in due diligence, valuation, strategic value consulting, corporate governance advisory, franchising & licensing advisory and intellectual asset management advisory. He is also a frequent speaker on topics related to mergers & acquisitions, valuation and intellectual property management.
Active in the community, Soo Earn serves as a Board Member and Audit Committee Chairman of Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, a Board Member and Audit Committee Member of CFA Singapore and a Member on the Board of Advisors of AIESEC Singapore. He also serves as a Committee Member in the Advocacy & Regulations Committee of Singapore Institute of Directors.
Soo Earn is a Fellow member of CPA Australia and ICPAS. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Laws.
Mr Davidson graduated with a BA Hons, from Trent University, Canada. Mr Davidson has 10 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language in Singapore and has taught in many different institutions in Singapore, including Singapore Management University, Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Business, Waseda-Shibuya Senior High School and Singapore Japanese School Changi. He has been teaching at NUS Extension for 4 years.

He is a Human Resource Management expert who specializes in Talent Management including Performance Evaluation, Talent Sourcing, Talent Assessment, Talent Development, Succession Management, Talent Engagement, Strategy Development including Balanced Scorecard and setting KPI’s/Objectives, Executive Coaching, Leadership Development and Talent Analytics. Paul is currently a faculty member with the American Management Association (AMA) and oversees a wide range of Change Management, Organizational Transformation and Strategic HR Projects.

Vincent has more than 12 years of experience in strategy and transformation engagements. He was an Associate Director in the Business Advisory Services Team in Ernst & Young heading the Strategy Team. Prior to that, he spent many years working as a consultant at both Cap Gemini and Andersen. During that time, he worked in countries such as the US, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Nanz started her first business , a fashion boutique and she sold off after 11 months , made a profit of $84,000 at 24 years old.

Nanz founded the home-grown brand “ONE.99shop”, which saw a tripling of sales every year for the initial years . Nanz grew a single store into a S$14 million dollar business in three years.

Nanz was named the Overall Winner of the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) .

The onset of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), ONE.99shop was deeply impacted by the weakened economic environment and it fell into receivership and ultimately, liquidation and bankruptcy . With uncommon optimism, she has courageously faced this setback “head-on” and has bounced back with a strong purpose to help others who are also experiencing severe adversity and personal trials.
2006
Nanz ‘s lessons in business : on starting and managing her businesses , managing adversity and bankruptcy , reinventing herself , were collected into her book, One Business, 99 Lessons, which became national best seller and sold over 17,000 copies in Singapore and other parts of Asia.
Nanz became the spokesperson for Swedish Skincare Shijano , hosted a “Nanz Chong” talkshow as a communication media for the brand.
2009
Nanz got out of bankruptcy.
Nanz founded Nanzinc.com a website for Asian entrepreneurs to gather, inspire and support one another .
2010
Nanz spoke at a panel at the inaugural APEC Women Entrepreneur Summit (Japan) founded by Mrs. Hillary Clinton.

Ms Choi Hyun Jung is a native Korean language teacher and Permanent Resident in Singapore. She has taught international as well as matured students in the immigrant Culture Center in Korea after obtaining the post-graduate diploma in Korean Language Education from Seoul National University in 2011 and the Graduate Certificate for Korean Language Teaching to Foreigners from the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, Korea.
Besides teaching Korean, she also gained an experience as a Project Manager and Coordinator at an IT company in Korea and Singapore for several years, to plan and develop IT services, maintain system and manage various projects. She prepares all the materials with these experience and skill to make the lesson relevant and interesting to the student. Ms Choi Yun Hoi is a native Korean language teacher. She started teaching Korean language at the Singapore Korean School in 2005 and has taught Korean at Singapore Polytechnic, NUS Extension and the National University of Singapore. She also conducted Korean classes in Bahrain for 18 months.
Yun Hoi obtained her Bachelor degree of Arts in Korean Language & Culture from Kyung Hee Cyber University in Korea as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from Sang Myung University in Korea.
Ms Yoo So Jung graduated from Ewha Womans University and got a master degree on Korean literature at Ewha Womans University. She has a certification of Korean as a foreign language (awarded in 2004 from Ewha Womans University). She worked for Seoul National University Human Resource department especially for foreign professors. She has also worked for Korean Department and Korean language & culture research center of Ewha Womans University.
Ms Han Eun Hee is a native Korean teacher who delivers her classes with fun and communicative style. Before she started teaching Korean Language, she accumulated rich working experiences as a professional interpreter and Korean TV/radio programs coordinator and correspondent. She translated various types of government agencies’ presentations and meetings for many years. She has also worked inInternational School of Singapore (ISS) as a Korean counsellor for 4 years and has been trained as an International Baccalaureate curriculum teacher to understand holistic learning teaching style and method to international students.
She graduated from Hong Ik University in Seoul with a Bachelor degree of Arts in English Language and Literature and has an English-speaking interpreter licence from the Korean Tourism Board. She also has certified a Korean Language teacher’s course from Language Education Institute in Seoul National University. Currently, she is teaching in the NUS as well.

Ms. Jang Ha Ri is a native Korean. She has years of experience in teaching Korean to foreigners and elementary school students in Singapore. She delivers Korean Language class in a communicative style using multimedia and various materials. Ha Ri has a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at Ewha Woman's University in Seoul, Korea and has a Teacher's Licence for Elementary Education issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Korea. She had taught elementary school students for 3 years in Seoul, Korea. She also completed The Program for Education of Korean as a Foreign Language at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea and has a certificate of Korean Language Teacher Level 3 which was issued by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Korea.
Ms. Jeong In Kyoung is a native Korean who worked as an executive assistant at Hewlett-Packard Korea since 1996, and worked as a contract administrator at Agilient Technologies Asia Pacific and SAP Asia Pacific and later as a senior order management officer at Apple Computer. She has benn working at the NUS Extension since 2008. Living more than 11 years in Singapore has made her understand Singapore students well. In Kyoung graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies with Bachelor Arts in Hindi and English.
Ms. Kim Chi Hyang has taught Korean since August 2010 in NUS Extension. Her teaching style is based on that of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language. She focuses on main grammar, expression and vocabulary, as well as the associated activities of speaking, listening, reading and writing. In particular, she drives students to concentrate on developing communicative skill based on Korea’s everyday language life and real culture.
This way, local students can quickly level up their language ability as if they were educated in Korea. Furthermore she places emphasis on the most efficient teaching method and in making continuous improvement to the student's Korean usage ability. She strives to keep student's enthusiasm in learning Korean and in the Korea culture.
She was a lecturer of Korean Language in two of Korean Universities until February 2010. She also holds the certificate of Program for Korean Language Teachers. Her major in Graduate School is Korean Linguistics. She also majored in Korean Language and Literature in undergraduate studies. She received both her M.A and B.A in Hansung University, Seoul, Korea.
Ms. Na Ji Young majored in Korean Language and Literature. She has completed the Korean teaching training course for foreigner in Seoul University. She specialises in marketing and analysis in her early career. She has worked for IT consulting company as an IT-CRM(Customer Relationship Management) consultant in Korea. Ji Young has been teaching Korean in Singapore since 2008. She has a wealth of experience in teaching Korean at the Korean International School as well as in private language schools. In addtion, she has taught companies, especially in the banking field. Ji Young places great emphasis on efficient teaching and is constantly learning about new teaching methods for better delivery.
Ms. Park Jiyoung is a native Korean. She has been teaching Korean language to foreigners for over 10 years in Korea and Singapore. Jiyoung received her Ph.D in Korean language and literature. Jiyoung is equipped with the necessary teaching skills and expertise to build a strong foundation in her students and she has accumulated good know-how over the years to effectively motivate foreigners to study the Korean language.
Ms Yom Ju Jin is a native Korean language teacher and Permanent Resident in Singapore. She has taught international as well as matured students in the Singapore Korean International School and Singapore Polytechnic after obtaining the post-graduate diploma in Korean Language Education from Seoul National University in 2009 and the Graduate Certificate for Korean Language Teaching to Foreigners from the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, Korea.
Ms Yom is also a part-time tutor in Korean Language Studies at the NUS Centre for Language Studies. Her classes are engaging and interactive as she injects authentic experience in the teaching-and-learning environment.
