The first ever Mandarin-taught Executive Training Program on Water Eco-efficiency was hosted by the Singapore Peking Oxford Research Enterprise (SPORE) under NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI) last February 2012. The aim of the program is to share Singapore capabilities in water technology solutions with government and industrial leaders from China.

The training program was spear-headed by SPORE and brought forth a collaborative work among Singapore's key agencies including the Public Utilities Board, Economic Development Board, National Environment Agency, and NUS. Lectures and site visits to various Singapore water facilities were parts of the program.

SPORE is indeed grateful for the contributions of the different stakeholders in making the event successful. The participants agreed that the lectures are of high quality and the site visits are appropriate in understanding how Singapore dealt with the challenges of water scarcity and resource management. Valuable interactions and useful networks have been established during the program.

The next run of the training program has been scheduled for September 2012. For details, please visit http://www.nus.edu.sg/neri/SPORE/opportunities.html for more information.
