Research Scholarships


SPORE aims to provide disciplinary development (SPO-D) by training manpower mainly through postgraduate degree programs. There are several scholarships offered under SPORE program which include the following:
  1. NUS SPORE PhD Scholarship
    2. Students will be based in NUS Singapore and may be given the opportunity to travel to Peking University or the University of Oxford for exchange and research collaboration.

  2. Peking SPORE Dual MSc Scholarship
    3. Students are expected to spend some time in both NUS and Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School to fulfill the requirements for the Dual MSc program.

  3. SPORE DPhil Scholarship at University of Oxford
    4. Students will pursue DPhil degree at University of Oxford under joint supervision of professors from University of Oxford and NUS, and will be required to work in Singapore for at least one year after graduation.

  4. SPORE Industrial PhD Scholarship
    5. Students will be supported by industry player collaborating with SPORE focusing on research industrial projects.

Research Staff


SPORE currently has a pool of more than 25 Principal Investigators in NUS and more than 20 research staff under its umbrella. All the staff are specialized in one of the 4 research clusters which are targeted at water sustainability and eco‐efficiency concept. SPORE is recruiting various categories of research staff with relevant experience for its research programs:
  1. Postdoctoral research fellows
  2. Research engineers
  3. Research assistants

Executive Workshops, Seminars and Forums


SPORE is also keen to provide networking and training opportunities for executives from various companies, institutions and government agencies from the region to establish contacts, to keep updated on the latest research trends in water and environmental technologies, as well as to understand the needs of different countries, markets demands and industries through various executive workshops, seminars and forums.
