About the Speaker


Vikas Goel, 34, is the founder, owner, Chairman and Managing Director of eSys Technologies Group (formerly known as eSys Distribution Group), currently amongst the largest Component and Hard disk drive distribution companies globally. Mr Goel is a respected and well-connected business leader in the global IT hardware industry, with several years of professional and entrepreneurial experience in international business covering Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and America.

Mr. Goel established eSys Distribution Pte Ltd in 2000, with its first operations in South East Asia. Within the first year, he turned the Singapore operations into a profitable US$130 million business. In 2001, 2002 and 2003, the Group registered revenues in excess of US$290 million, US$420 million and US$ 780 million respectively. For 2004, Mr Goel expects the Group's revenue to be US$ 1.4 billion. The revenue growth is driven by organic growth in developing markets and strategic acquisitions in Europe and Latin America.

Under Mr. Goel's leadership, the Group's business operations have expanded into more than 27 countries covering Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific, USA and Canada within four years. Presently, the Group has garnered about 22% market share of the world HDD distribution business. The Group is also the largest HDD distributor in Indian Subcontinent, Korea, Middle-East and amongst the biggest in China, with significant market shares in several other countries for key components. Mr Goel also recently spearheaded the Group's diversification into PC manufacturing and produces the most price competitive PC in the world.

With his sharp business acumen, Mr. Goel is named the Indian Entrepreneur 2004. The award is organized by the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Development Bank of Singapore (DBS). He has also successfully brought eSys Technologies to a Third position in the prestigious Enterprise 50 Award in 2004.

Complementing Mr. Goel's entrepreneurial success is his strong academic credentials. He has an MBA in International Business, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and English Literature.
