Abstract
In this talk, Joshua will share his personal insights
on the key factors and challenges that startups
faced in Asia especially after the dotcom crash
and provide a strategic framework to overcome the
limitations and exploit the strengths of a startup.
About the Speakers
Joshua is Chairman and co-founder of Transcend,
a CRM / eBusiness platform software provider. The
company has successfully implemented CRM and eBusiness
projects for Singapore Telecommunications, SCV,
Great Eastern Life, National Healthcare Group, British
Petroleum and other MNC clients in a short 2 years
since inception in July 2000, during the post dot-com
bust era. This achievement has led to his receiving
the Shell Livewire Young Business Startup Award
in 2001. Prior to founding Transscend, Joshua worked
for ECnet Limited where he was Business Development
lead for National Semiconductor, and joint lead
for Natsteel Electronics and JIT Holdings. He graduated
from the Unversity of Queensland in 1998 with a
GPA distinction and was on the Dean's List of Faculty
of Economics, Business and Law. His views have been
published in Computer Times and Business Times.
