Making the Pitch: Advice for Entrepreneurs from an Experienced Silicon Valley Angel Investor

Abstract
In this informal talk, Mr. Nissley will share his experience as an angel investor in Silicon Valley on what investors look for in the business plan and presentation pitch by entrepreneurs seeking early-stage funding. He will provide practical advice on fund raising strategy by high tech entrepreneurs, and what they should concentrate on when making their pitch. Places will be limited to encourage interaction.
About the Speaker
Mr. Hal Nissley is the founding president of Palo Alto-based International Angel Investor Institute (IAII). He has been an experienced angel investor in the Silicon Valley for many years, with a record of many successful investee companies, including: Display & Decisions Systems Ltd; Oracle; Forward Tech (a forerunner of SUN); E-Mu (Creative Labs); Digital Dynamics; Advanced Drilling; Pyramid Tech (Siemens); Accelerated Processors; Giga Ops; Log Point; Rammus Vision; Centegy; Speedlane; BriteArt; Futori; Team Bridge; Myo Analytics (muscle mapping) and Eyden Doc. Hal obtained his BS/MS in Engineering, Math and Operations Research, Case Western Reserve University, and has been a Registered Professional Engineer (PE); he also earned a BS degree in Law from Peninsula College. He has previously held senior positions at IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton and Itel Leasing. He is currently a partner in Angel Capital Network; Osprey; and Start-Up101.
