About the Speaker
Peter Demuynck graduated in 1990 from the UFSIA management
school in Belgium and acquired an MBA-degree in Information
Technology at the City University Business School in London
1991). After several internships with respectively Siemens
AG in Germany, Tel Plus Communications in Florida and
Siemens Automotive in France, he started his career in
the summer of 1992 as Project Manager with Comshare Belgium,
a management software company. After taking on Benelux
Product Management responsabilities within Comshare, he
decided to venture into the US job-market and moved to
Houston, Texas in the beginning of 1996. After a one-year
project as a senior training consultant for IBM, putting
together training material for IBM's sales force, Peter
succesfully helped an Austrian high-tech company penetrate
the US-market as Director Business Development. In June
1998, he went back to his roots in Belgium, to join S.AI.L.
Trust (formerly called Flandes Language Foundation), first
as Platform Manager and later as Vice President Business
Development, assisting in the establishment of new Centers
of Excellence, as well as guiding and supporting the Business
Development team in identifying and attracting high-potential
startups to the S.AI.L. Ports. Peter was recently also
nominated Vice President of BIA (Business Incubator Association)
Europe, a pan-european association gathering Europe's
leading incubators and promoting Entrepreneurship in Europe.
