Another NUS spin-off company that I would like to introduce is PrivyLink, a leading provider of e-Security and e-Payment solutions for e-government and e-business operations in Asia, founded in 1997.

Based in Singapore, their In-house R&D provides the latest technological developments in areas such as cryptography, smart cards, e-payment and mobile computing.

PrivyLink's total end-to-end e-security solutions are with high flexibility to meet evolving standards and business requirements. Such solutions and services can be applied through various delivery channels like personal computer, mobile phone, kiosk, web TV and PDA. PrivyLink also offers e-Security and e-Payment consulting, product customization, corporate training, project management and support services.

With its in-house R&D capabilities, PrivyLink provides high-assurance secure wireless and e-Commerce solutions, and consultancy services on Internet business strategy and applications deployment. Its security e-Commerce solutions cover areas such as Internet banking, mobile banking, cross-country e-Commerce payment processing hub, banking network infrastructure, and online government services delivery.

PrivyLink also focuses on the development of secure wireless infrastructure for mobile commerce in the region. On payment technology, PrivyLink is the fifth company worldwide that received SET Secure Electronic Transaction™ accreditation for both CA and payment gateway, an industry standard developed by VISA and MasterCard.

On Cryptography technology, PrivyLink has obtained the US NIST certifications for cryptographic algorithms implementation of FIPS 46-3 (Triple-DES/DES) and FIPS 180-1 (SHA-1). These certifications assure PrivyLink’s products' conformance to standards and increase customers' confidence in product quality and interoperability.

In 1999 PrivyLink attained the "Best IT Application Award" from Gemplus International for smart card application capability.
