Mark Applebaum presenter
Composer Mark Applebaum will discuss his recent work with special attention to the role of the "musical collision" in the conceptualization of new music, and the so-called contingent, tactical, and ontological difficulties in the apprehension of contemporary art.
Mark Applebaum is Associate Professor of Composition and Theory at Stanford University. His solo, chamber, choral, orchestral, operatic, and electroacoustic works have been performed throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia with notable premieres at the Darmstadt summer sessions.
This presentation will be given via video conference.
