Liza Lim Composition Seminar

Chinese-Australian composer Liza Lim took up composition at the age of 11 while a student in Melbourne. Between 2005 and 2007, she was Composer-in-Residence with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and followed this with a period as Artist-in-Residence in Berlin. The crossing of boundaries and “ecstatic transformation" have been a recurrent theme in her compositions. Liza Lim will talk about aspects of her recent opera "The Navigator" (2008) as well as the earlier work "Wue Ling Jie: Moon Spirit Feasting" (A Chinese Ritual Street Opera) from 1999.
