Georgia Browne, presenter
Since graduating with distinction at The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague studying historical flutes, Georgia enjoys a busy international career performing in both chamber and orchestral settings. She is principal flute and regular soloist with The New Dutch Academy in the Netherlands and works with various period instrument ensembles including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Academy of Ancient Music, L’Orchestre des Champs Elysees and La Chambre Philharmonique.

She has been flute soloist and has performed chamber music at numerous prestigious music festivals and concert halls; The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, De Doelen in Rotterdam, the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Cite de la Musique in Paris. Georgia has been recorded live for BBC radio 3, the European Broadcasting Union, various German broadcasters, Radio 4 in The Netherlands, ABC ClassicFM in Australia and the Icelandic national broadcaster. She has appeared on several recordings and her solo CD of music by Carl Friedrich Abel is soon to be released.

In August 2009, Georgia played principal flute with the Academy of Ancient Music in a programme of Haydn symphonies at the York Early Music Festival in England and the Schloss Augustusburg Haydn Festival in Germany and was invited to perform chamber music for a Dutch royal visit to New York City. Most recently Georgia was a guest artist at the inaugural Festival Baroque Australia in Perth where she performed concertos and a chamber music recital with Australia’s finest early music specialists.

Georgia has given guest lectures and masterclasses at tertiary music institutions in Europe, Asia and Australia and teaches Baroque flute privately in London where she is currently based.

Georgia will use Bach’s Partita for flute solo in A minor to illustrate the musical and technical possibilities specific to the Baroque Flute.
