Piano Concerto No. 1 (piano and string quartet version)

"Hats off, gentlemen! A genius!", effused Robert Schumann on a fellow 21-year-old composer named Fryderyk Chopin. Celebrating the 200th birth anniversaries of both composers, Assistant Professor Albert Tiu and the T'ang Quartet, the Conservatory's Quartet-in-Residence, will perform two of their greatest works. Schumann's exuberant Piano Quintet was written in 1842, the same year that he wrote his 3 string quartets. Chopin's brilliant Concerto in E minor, written some 12 years earlier, will have its Singapore premiere in the chamber version, which was popular during his time.
