KERIM VERGAZOV

Russian pianist Kerim Vergazov was the first prize winner at international music competitions in Kiev and Lvov ( Ukraine) in 2000. In addition, he was also awarded the first prize at the Sergei Rachmaninov Piano Competition ( Leningrad) in 1985 and the All-Union Piano Competition (North-Western Region) in 1979.

Prior to coming to Singapore, Kerim Vergazov was a full-time piano accompanist for 18 years at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in the Departments of Choral Conducting, Orchestral Conducting, French Horn, Bassoon, Opera Direction and Vocal Studies. Aside from this, his professional career includes appointments as the piano accompanist at the Mariinsky Theatre from 1992-1995, at the Leningrad State Special Music School for Gifted Children from 1984-1985 and at the Leningrad State Music School No. 4 from 1980-1984.

Kerim Vergazov's studied piano with Prof Roman Lebedev at the Leningrad State Conservatory (now St. Petersburg State Conservatory). His other teachers included Ida Shamayeva at the M. Mussorgsky High School for Music and Evgenia Soboleva at the Leningrad State Special Music School for Gifted Children.
