Mr Wong Siew Hoong is the Deputy Director-General of Education (Curriculum) [Dy DGE (C)] in the Ministry of Education, Singapore. As Dy DGE (C), he oversees the development of key curriculum policies and the design and implementation of a forward-looking curriculum in Singapore schools.

Mr Wong studied History under a Merit Scholarship at the National University of Singapore from 1979 to 1983 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree, followed by a Diploma in Education from the same university in 1984. Under a Ministry of Education Postgraduate Scholarship, he obtained a Masters in Education from Harvard University, USA, in 1991.

Mr Wong Siew Hoong joined the Education Service as a teacher in Victoria Junior College. He then became Head of Department at MacPherson Secondary School and was appointed as Vice-Principal and subsequently as Principal in Tanjong Katong Secondary School. He was Deputy Director in the Ministry of Education from 1997 - 1998, and was responsible for formulating policies for National Education, before taking on the Headmastership of Raffles Institution from 1998 - 2004. He then assumed the role of Director of Schools from 2004 – 2011, and was responsible for the management and appraisal of schools in Singapore. Mr Wong was appointed as Dy DGE (C) in 2011.

Mr Wong was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2012 by the President of the Republic of Singapore. He was previously Chairman of the Singapore Schools Sports Council and the President of the History Association of Singapore. Mr Wong was also formerly a member of the Board of the Singapore History Museum, the Board of the National Environment Agency, the Youth Expedition Programme Advisory Panel, the National Cadet Corps Council, the Protem Committee of the Singapore Kindness Movement, the National Institute of Education Council, the Health Promotion Board, and the National Council of Anti Drug Abuse. Mr Wong is currently the Chairman for the Board of the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre and sits on the Governing Board of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Board of Directors of Gardens By The Bay Company and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board. Mr Wong is married with two children.
