International students who are accepted to a Tulane University exchange programme must obtain a J-1 visa.  Upon acceptance, the Center for International Students and Scholars (CISS) will issue each exchange student a visa application form (Form DS-2019).  Students must bring the form to the nearest American Embassy/Consulate in their country to obtain a visa.  For further information, please visit http://global.tulane.edu/oiss/students.html.

Health/Medical Insurance

The University requires that all full-time students carry adequate medical insurance while attending Tulane University. Each year, full-time students must either enrol in the University sponsored Student Health Insurance plan, or waive enrolment in this plan by providing proof of other adequate coverage. This enrolment waiver requirement must be met each year during the Fall semester or in the Spring for students enrolling as full-time for the first time in January.

Students are also required to fulfill the immunization criteria as stated here.
